I am just okay with C-actress Peng Xiao Ran onscreen in her drama performances but now I’m a fan of her straightforward and IDGAF response to what is usually considered a scandal of sorts in C-ent. This week pictures were released by paparazzi of her on what clearly appears to be a date or romantically hanging out with a dude. … Continue reading →
So far 2026 has been dubbed “The Winter of Hendian Studios” in that the noticeable decease in C-dramas being greenlit for filming has directly led to the once bustling filming city set to go quiet. Pundits are saying Hendian filming is down a whopping 80% of work and that studio employs so many people who are now either left or … Continue reading →
It’s kinda ironic that former Pursuit of Jade costars Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei ended up having a similar result outcomes with their respective next dramas. Which also further confirms that hits like PoJ is so so hard to achieve nowadays, even stars coming out from a hit can’t really tap that buzz right into lifting their next … Continue reading →
Okay, this upcoming C-drama I am really really looking forward to even if neither leads are my faves. I think Youku period C-drama Sea of No Return (归良辰 Gui Liang Chen) did well casting Li Yun Rui and Liu Xie Ning, a fresh pairing and they look great separately and together in visuals for their roles. The posters have drama … Continue reading →
Another C-drama has kicked off filming and it’s none other than the next Guo Jing Ming directed sure to be visually sumptuous piece. The drama is a fantasy story titled Bai Yao Pu (百妖谱 or Hundred Demon Manual) and has an animated series based on it already called Fairies Album. The drama will star Deng Wei and Ai Mi, who … Continue reading →
Lol, talk about fandom complaining themselves into a downgrade. C-actor Zhang Ling He‘s leveling up this year thanks to hit drama Pursuit of Jade has made his fandom even more vocal and demanding about his projects and costars. His next drama is slated to be period drama Revenge (Ci Tang 刺棠) and the female lead has been mostly confirmed to … Continue reading →
These two are so mid for me but at least neither offends me anymore with their onscreen presence as they used to so improvement I guess. C-ent casting circuit is saying that Yang Yang and Chen Du Ling will be the leads for upcoming Tencent modern romance C-drama Kiss in the Wind, nothing is confirmed but he’s reportedly more likely … Continue reading →
Every time I think I’ve seen shit go down in C-drama land, whether in the casting phase to filming problems to post-production scandals, a new iteration pops up. The drama of the week goes to xianxia romance Love in the Shell (念相思 Nian Xiang Si or Longing for My Beloved) which has only been filming for a month but has … Continue reading →
Lol, they really hate this drama. The opening Douban ratings for Overdo is a meager 5.0 as the drama ended its quite eventful run this week, and usually the international viewers are very generous with praise and ratings for C-drama but even on MDL it’s a very low for MDL rating of 6.7. The ending felt like it put everyone … Continue reading →
There is new rumors around the next project for C-actress Zhao Lu Si that is worth sharing, it’s more likely than not true and yet another sign of how hard it is in the industry now to get a new project off the ground. Last year she went through a health scare, then breakup with her long time agency, and … Continue reading →
It’s probably smart timing that the two leads of breakout hit Pursuit of Jade both quickly followed up with another drama airing soon thereafter. Zhang Ling He had Overdo which is close to finishing its airing and now Tian Xi Wei is back on the small screen with Genius Girlfriend which iQiyi released over the weekend on August 2nd. Her … Continue reading →
It’s from a hardscrabble delinquent type character to a cop one next for C-actor Song Wei Long. His next role will not be yet another idol type period or romance drama but will be in a mainstream big budget police procedural Xing Jing Rong Yu 刑警荣誉 which means honor of the policeman. It’s apparently got an award winning production team … Continue reading →
So the fast and not too furiously faced run of modern romance C-drama Love for You (Chinese title Ye Go Gu Tou 野狗骨头 or Wild Dog Bone) has concluded and the drama may actually be worth me giving a second chance. I checked out the first few episodes and was just meh about it, FF-ing more than I should and … Continue reading →
