So this C-drama doesn’t have an English sensible title yet so the Chinese title is just Xian Yu which translates to Offering Fish. It’s adapted from the C-novel Offering Salted Fish to Master and I haven’t read it so have no clue what the reference entails. I don’t see any fish or offering of said fish in the new character … Continue reading →
So tonight for many is lunar new year eve of 2024 which means the year of the dragon is here. It’s time for familiar gathering and the return to hometowns, but for the entertainment world it’s an occasion for some celebratory releases. There will be new dramas and movies premiering during this period, and of course new promos. Currently filming … Continue reading →
So the wuxia drama Word of Honor was what made Gong Jun’s career and it’s just been a short three years so there is still time for him to convince the viewers he’s the real deal or just a one hit wonder. His post WoH dramas have all been mid to duds but this year he has Fox Spirit Matchmaker … Continue reading →
So this drama has been in the works for over a year and originally the leads were supposed to be Zhang Wan Yi and Tian Xi Wei. But with C-casting, it’s not over till its over and in recent weeks it’s pretty clear that drama will be Yang Yang’s next big project as male lead. The drama is titled In … Continue reading →
The just ended xianxia drama Sword and Fairy based on the Chinese Paladin 6 game was a flop but female lead Yu Shu Xin already has her next xianxia on deck. She’s filmed the C-drama adaptation of The Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus titled Yong Ye Xing He with male lead Ding Yu Xi and the drama recently released … Continue reading →
So I haven’t heard any credible melons on when Tencent will premiere Guardians of the Dafeng but with lunar new year holidays underway it may come during the next big holiday time period since this is one of the higher profile dramas on deck. The drama reached 1 million reservations last November and now has broken 2 million reservations so … Continue reading →
The cast of this C-drama was probably the first production to kick off filming in 2024, as the filming commenced on January 2nd and the cast has been hard at work in Hendian since. The drama is called Moonlit Reunion (Zi Ye Gui or Midnight Return) and is adapted from a novel but not of the same title. Starring Xu … Continue reading →
If we go back just through the decades in our own lives it’s clear that some looks/fashion just worked then but not objectively a good outfit. That’s how I view the entirety of Tang Dynasty in terms of female fashion in ancient China. From the hair to the gowns, it’s a tough look to pull off and kudos to both … Continue reading →
The discussion of the two Chinese Paladin drama adaptations airing at the same time and both flopping with CP4 Sword and Fairy 4 and CP6 Sword and Fairy at least has two different casts. Unfortunately for C-actress Song Yi Ren (Irene Song) she has two dramas that premiered at the same time with period time-travel drama A Different Princess airing … Continue reading →
There are upcoming dramas I am looking forward to but this xianxia hotness on steroids called Burning Flames (Wu Geng Ji) is not one of them lol. The drama stars Allen Ren and Xing Fei and is already off to a potentially lead fandom in-fighting starts as the first trailer just released has upset her side by showing her onscreen … Continue reading →
I feel like The Blood of Youth was just a precursor to C-ent trying to make all three male actors happen, from Li Hong Yi to Liu Xue Yi to Ao Rui Peng and I just don’t feel like for any of them. But they are happening in 2024 as male leads and for Liu Xue Yi he is currently … Continue reading →
So I’m all about second male leads and supporting actors getting their change to level up to the lead limelight and I guess it’s time for Ao Rui Peng. The issue is I don’t understand his appeal (yet) so forgive me for thinking Bai Lu is downgrading with him as her male lead in her next drama the xianxia series … Continue reading →
So the brief hiatus Dilraba Dilmurat took in 2022 is long over as she’s going full steam in 2024. Last year she filmed one C-drama Sword Rose and then did the super popular variety show Divas Hit the Road. This year she’s going to be filming two C-dramas back to back and will start shortly. She will first film Love … Continue reading →
