I’m not interested when Xiao Zhan does serious or homespun type dramas so this is a very exciting pick for his next project that looks cool. He’s started filming the big budget C-drama The Infinite 10 Days (十日终焉 Shi Ri Zhong Yan) based on the same name novel. The characters wake up one day in the Land of the End … Continue reading →
I love this casting but am wary of this story set up. Jo Yu Ri andKim Dong Hwi are joining as second leads in the Jung Hae In and Shin Se Kyung starring K-drama Love Virus. With love in the title is is a romance drama but the story has the leads as a 9-year long time good looking and … Continue reading →
I hate K-drama casting news with like nearly zero substantive info. But better that than nothing at all, so we’re getting a modern youth romance K-drama coming up with the literal title of Don’t Go Over the Wall. It’s going to star young actors Moon Sang Min and Shin Si Ah, and the script is from the screenwriter Lee Na … Continue reading →
So first comes The Remarried Empress and then will come The Wicked Queen in K-drama land. K-ent is reporting that Park Eun Bin has been cast as the titular wicked queen in an upcoming sageuk K-drama adaptation of a web novel. Her male lead will be Kim Jae Won, who is now either the luckiest up-and-coming young actor in K-ent … Continue reading →
I’m not sure how this pairing would work onscreen but it’s definitely not an idol casting. iQiyi has a new drama that just confirmed the leads and will start filming next week at the end of April. It’s called A Touch of Green (雾里青 Wu Li Qing) and stars Li Xian withZhang Jing Yi. The female lead has been in … Continue reading →
April is nearing the close and no C-drama is worth talking about that arrived this month other than the totally under the radar small budget modern romance and workplace C-drama The Epoch of Miyu (Mi Yu Ji 蜜语纪). Starring Wallace Chung and Zhu Zhu, it’s tailored for adult audiences rather than the younger generation preferring the sweet first love romance … Continue reading →
There’s a J-dorama getting adapted into a K-drama coming up and it’s one of those weird but comedic and heartwarming genres and has fresh names for the leads to change things up. Jang Geun Seok and Shin Eun Soo are in talks for the K-drama remake of Otoko Meshi, itself a live action adaptation of the same name Japanese novel. … Continue reading →
Two unexpected names are being floated together for a new K-drama and I’m oddly okay with this pairing. Jung So Min and Kim Yo Han are in talks for sageuk K-drama Sunrise Moon. It’s a second chance female centric tale of revenge and straight up C-dramas spate of born again female lead dramas. The female lead loses everything and has … Continue reading →
I’m a little bemused and perplexed that the whole “Foundation General Gate” with Zhang Ling He in Pursuit of Jade got as big as it did and has had additional real life impact that it spawned. Recall the criticism lobbed at his character for looking too flower boy when playing a general in PoJ, complete with full face of makeup … Continue reading →
Sometimes the hammer of judgment does have to come down to remind production companies not to embark on a project with a slew of bad decisions. Princess Agents was a hit in 2017 and has long been discussed to make a sequel since the ending was sorta unfulfilled, but leads Zhao Li Ying and Lin Geng Xin both went on … Continue reading →
C-actor Song Wei Long has reportedly landed on his next project and it’s an interesting one that also had other actors in the running. The drama is titled Huo Wang (火旺) or Blazing Fire and is adapted from a thriller xianxia C-drama about a high school student who may or may not be mentally unwell in the modern world who … Continue reading →
A manhwa is getting a K-drama adaptation and the set up is straight out of the bibimbap of selecting oft used elements in the entirety of drama land. Yoo Yeon Seok and Lee Se Young are up for Princess Covets the Scholar, the sageuk romance between an assertive princess who falls for the capable scholar in her father’s Joseon court … Continue reading →
No. Just no. I need these two to individually and together take a time out. You know when a teacher tells an overeager student to sit in the corner and just read quietly, it’s feeling like that talk needs to go out to Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui. This week the C-ent casting rumor is saying, and with … Continue reading →
