A quick housekeeping first, next weekend there will not be new episodes of Vincenzo as the production announced this week it will take a one week break in order to have more time to deliver the best final four episodes remaining. I’m all for that and grateful for the awe inducing ending to this Sunday’s episode 16 even more as … Continue reading →
The fallout and alleged reveals continue to dig up painful memories from three years ago in 2018 on the production of MBC drama Time. Male lead Kim Jung Hyun was noticeably awkward and reserved with female lead Seohyun at the press conference and then departed the drama midway reportedly due to mental health issues. He got both flack for being … Continue reading →
Gosh, they grow up so fast. Every time I see an actor come back from South Korea’s mandatory military service I will have known that my kids are two years older and it’s just a bittersweet feeling. Singer-actor Jinyoung (Jung Jin Young) of B1A4 and Moonlight Drawn by Clouds and Persevere, Goo Hae Ra has completed his army service after … Continue reading →
I’ll preface this post by saying that I believe all the negative news stories coming out this week on K-actor Kim Jung Hyun is due to his contract dispute with his agency, he wants to end it early and sign with another agency reportedly Culture Depot which reps his former costar Seo Ji Hye. Kim Jung Hyun’s career was on … Continue reading →
KBS Mon-Tues sageuk River Where the Moon Rises is rounding into the final stretch and everyone must be exhausted and deserving of that sigh of relief when it’s all done. Next week’s episode 17 is confirmed to have a time jump that turns the teenage crown prince into adult broody Kwon Hwa Woon, which means no more drunk and guilt-ridden … Continue reading →
Muahahahahaha, I can’t believe I’m going to so easily forgive a screenwriter for what this one did to get Vincenzo himself out of a jam to start episode 15 but it’s simultaneously ridiculous and ties back to earlier well laid…..bird feed shall we say. On the cusp of a mafia execution, who comes to Vincenzo’s aide none other than noisy … Continue reading →
I know disappointing K-dramas abound more than actually good ones, it’s a law of averages as well as how hard it is to make a great series from beginning to end with so many unknowns including acting, chemistry, writing, and directing. I haven’t written much about KBS Wed-Thurs series Hello? It’s Me! but it’s been my comfort blanket for the … Continue reading →
Woah, I was so not expecting to see street filming shots already but clearly production is underway and upcoming romance drama Now, We Are Breaking Up is happening whether we think its a good idea or not. A K-netizen posted a street shot of leading lady Song Hye Kyo taken this week on the streets of Seoul as she’s filming … Continue reading →
Another day, another K-netizen gripe. I’ll just explain it and let y’all decide if it’s legit. SBS premiered new Fri-Sat thriller drama Taxi Driver (Deluxe Taxi) starring Lee Je Hoon, Esom, Kim Eui Sung, and Pyo Ye Jin has been compared by viewers after watching the first episode to a gritty OCN detective vigilante type drama, so that’s a good … Continue reading →
Prime time dramas for the big three networks have been on the low side for years, but being in the 4-6% range is still a big difference then the 1-2% range. MBC‘s new drama Oh My Ladylord (Oh! Master) has the worst drama title in recent memory and even fresh out of the gate it’s started low only to go … Continue reading →
Argh, I can’t believe I have to wait until May for this drama! tvN‘s upcoming Doom at Your Service (One Day, Destruction Came to My Door) has a chance to destroy my mental well being from too much squeeing if it’s as good as the promos make it seem. New stills and character posters are out for leads Park Bo … Continue reading →
Drama friends, we have the first K-drama turd of 2021 and the first holder of the crown is unsurprisingly Sisyphus: The Myth. A sole source of comfort for fans of both leads is that it might get lucky and pass it on soon depending on what Mouse keeps pulling out of its Doraemon pocket of serial killer tricks. But I … Continue reading →
Crash Landing on You really IS the drama that keeps on giving, Ratings record setting, one real life OTP in leads Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, and now a second set of real life dating lovebirds. This week K-ent reported that CLOY second leads Kim Jung Hyun and Seo Ji Hye were in fact dating, but their two sides … Continue reading →
