I remember that grim reapers always need to wear black and look like secret service agents in dramas because that’s just what we expect. So the first stills of Seo In Guk as the titular Doom/Destruction himself in tvN fantasy romance Doom at Your Service (One Day Destruction Came to My Door) has his middle man between Heaven and Earth … Continue reading →
Awwww, this wasn’t the cast original set out and isn’t the one that I would have preferred. Upcoming sageuk drama Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi was originally set to star Jo Byung Gyu after his breakout hit with The Uncanny Counter but he stepped aside after the bullying allegations against him from his school age days continued unabated. He … Continue reading →
I’ve got all sorts of feels when it comes to Lee Do Hyun and his upcoming KBS drama Youth of May. He’s finally the solo male lead and I can’t wait to see what he brings to the role. But with the recent netizen attacks on any drama that it perceives to deviate from history or take fictional liberties in … Continue reading →
jTBC is on the defensive but not backing down to the netizen furor over its upcoming drama Snowdrop, which let us all agree on hasn’t aired yet so what the drama is fully about no one knows other than the production. After Joseon Exorcist was excoriated for demeaning King Taejong by fictionally portraying him as slaughtering citizens after hallucinating they … Continue reading →
The upcoming sageuk drama Bossam: Stealing Fate will be the special 10th anniversary production for the smaller cable network MBN, and I sure hope the quality is much better that jTBC’s 10th anniversary big budget clunker Sisyphus: The Myth. The more I see of Bossom the more I like it, Jung Il Woo returns to his rugged sageuk roots and … Continue reading →
After the action packing episode 13 of River Where the Moon Rises, the action moves squarely back to the palace and I kinda dozed off because it’s back to the stuff that the drama never did well in the first place. Ga Jin is starting to politic and set traps herself, good for her but it always feels like a … Continue reading →
The OCN Voice series keeps chugging along and the network has confirmed the leads and broadcast date for the next chapter. Voice 4 will star Song Seung Heon, the third male lead to join the franchise after Jang Hyuk did the first season and Lee Jin Wook the next two seasons, alongside OG female lead Lee Ha Na who I … Continue reading →
Man, is K-ent keeps on pissing me off I’m going to have to pare down my drama intake and hopefully pray both TW-dramas and J-doramas produce enough interesting productions to keep my interest. Luckily Spring 2021 has a classic renzoku on calendar, remember those peeps?!! Love is Deep (Koi wa Deep ni) stars Ishihara Satomi and Ayano Go, both prolific … Continue reading →
It’s wild to think that a week ago the worst thing to befall K-dramas in 2021 was the male lead swap in River Where the Moon Rises, and then Joseon Exorcist came along and went “Hold my beer.”. Mon-Tues remains thin on drama offerings and I’m happily still enjoying River, a drama that has gotten better narratively but still a … Continue reading →
tvN Wed-Thurs drama Mouse has been offing characters left and with at will, zero hesitation. For example, Dr. Daniel is off to sell real estate and now Dr. Yo Han is donning his court hanbok and off to politicking in the Gorguyeo. Actor Kwon Hwa Woon, who I have seen in supporting roles in many dramas but really caught my … Continue reading →
I can stare at these posters and these two leads all night long, that’s how soothing and beautiful it is. tvN fantasy romance Doom at Your Service (One Day Destruction Came to My Door) released the first two official drama posters to start the week and all I can do is swoon. Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young already … Continue reading →
Episode 12 on a twenty episode drama is always a bit of placeholder, keeping the story going on pace while starting to set up for the final arc to come. Vincenzo slowed down the comedy from LOL moments in episode 11 but didn’t dawdle on anything, continuing the strong sure hand in reveals and action without resorting to keeping things … Continue reading →
I’m going to enjoy the second half of River Where the Moon Rises even more now that I know one can’t take K-dramas for granted, who knows what might piss off the domestic mob and have them petition to pull it off air for one grievance or another. KBS has managed to salvage the drama after male lead Ji Soo … Continue reading →
