The celebrity pretend married world got a little less fake this week thanks to the arrival of newest variety show couple Bolin Chen and Song Ji Hyo. The Taiwanese actor and Korean actress have been paired up in the Chinese version of We Got Married called We Are In Love. The WGM world already had Korean and Taiwanese cross-border couples … Continue reading →
I still remember a year ago when Ji Soo was still a no name newbie before his breakout rookie performance in Angry Mom, back then finding pictorials of him was near impossible and definitely a rare treat. His meteoric rise this year has yielded a steady stream of fashion spreads whether in CFs or magazine stills, and invariably every single … Continue reading →
If there is one thing Kim Eun Sook does well that is nearly universally agreed upon, it’s writing standalone second leads with their own story that isn’t predicated on glomming onto the first leads. There are a few exceptions such as in Heirs when Kim Woo Bin crushed on Park Shin Hye, but even there his conflict with Lee Min … Continue reading →
With Descendants of the Sun doing gangbuster prime time ratings, the best since You From Another Star two years ago, it gives K-media a chance to wax rhapsodic about the A-list actresses who continue to deliver in looks and/or ratings. A recent OSEN article has the balls to argue that the top 5 most beautiful face K-actresses with successes works are … Continue reading →
There is a new bromance in K-town, whether it was created from reel to real or vice-versa it doesn’t matter because both are just so sweet together. Rising actors Nam Joo Hyuk and Ji Soo have been gallivanting from drama set to events around town and posting SNS updates ever since filming started on the Korean drama adaptation of Bu … Continue reading →
There are always going to be younger and fresher faces in the entertainment industry, not to mention how annoying it is for fans or media to obsesses on actresses aging and/or not getting married. I like to dedicate a post to the gorgeous and successful top actresses in the Chinese and Taiwanese entertainment circle, aging gracefully without a chip on … Continue reading →
Namgong Min is soooooo good at acting bad (don’t let that smile above fool you!) one worries that he would get typecast in the most villainous of villain roles after back-to-back performances in Remember: Son’s War and The Girl Who Sees Smells. Both dramas aired on SBS and clearly the network knows a talent when it sees it and has … Continue reading →
Well this certainly two more potential adds in the plus column for upcoming MBC comedy drama Lucky Romance. The network has extended offers to idol-actor Taecyeon for the second male lead and actress Lee Chung Ah to be the second female lead. The drama has already confirmed leads Hwang Jung Eum and Ryu Jun Yeol, going for the successful drama … Continue reading →
Filming has wrapped for the movie version adaptation of popular fantasy period romance novel Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms, but finished with filming doesn’t mean it’s going to hit the screens faster than the still in production drama version. This is one project I’m very excited about for atypical reasons, I actually didn’t care for the source … Continue reading →
Yet another entertaining episode of Descendants of the Sun today, with more cute and interesting plot developments in equal measure followed by a gut punch ending. Nothing rises to smarty pants stuff but remains plausible enough with slick execution to sell the scenario. Dating for real Mo Yeon and Shi Jin, along with the same development with second leads Myung Joo and … Continue reading →
There is a major sense of deja vu when I look at anything related to upcoming MBC Mon-Tues drama Monster (Tyrant). Thankfully it’s not a negative emotion but some fondness for positives from the past. There’s leads Kang Ji Hwan and Sung Yuri working together for the third time after Hong Gil Dong and Runway Cop, both moderately successful projects … Continue reading →
It’s a weird project to have a breakout moment but I’m sure no one involved with the drama is looking a gift horse in the mouth. The unexpected hit that was web drama Go Princess Go (The Crown Princess Promotion Chronicles) has spawned many things but one thing that is certain to stick is the elevation of leading lady Zhang … Continue reading →
Oh what an inadvertent confession can unearth. Episode 9 of Descendants of the Sun starts off with the lighthearted amusement of Mo Yeon’s broadcast confession to Shi Jin and rolls right into pushing their relationship forward. And boy does it move forward, in ways both confident and assuring. Finally the doctor and soldier stops their one step forward two steps … Continue reading →
