The first stills are out for currently filming C-drama Precious Youth, and for various reasons this is one of the rare modern C-dramas I’m actually excited to watch. Starring Liu Shi Shi and Zheng Kai, the drama chronicles their friendship and romance spanning 15 years from high school well into adulthood. It sounds less like In Time With You/The Time … Continue reading →
The hot off the Yoo Seung Ho press pictorial from High Cut magazine feels like a dessert on top of the recent Adidas CF campaign. It’s basically a continuation of his running man persona from the Adidas ads, which makes sense since he’s modeling the same brand gear in the High Cut pictures. I love his presence in the pics, … Continue reading →
For a group that just filmed a real life historical tragedy of operatic proportions, the cast of upcoming sageuk movie The Throne (Sado) continue to look positively glowing and happy while doing promotions for the movie. Clearly everyone really got along, and now they have an additional reason to be pleased as The Throne has just been selected as Korea’s official … Continue reading →
I’m not sure I’ll like upcoming C-variety show Challenger Alliance quite as much as I love the Chinese version of Running Man (Hurry Up Brother), but it’s totally piquing my interest solely on the behind-the-scenes antics of the cast. The show might as well be called the Fan Bing Bing–Li Chen lovefest, what with casting the big name real life … Continue reading →
It was interesting to get a glimpse at the drama salaries of the top Korean actresses, and now it’s time to see how their male counterparts are faring. There is total gender income at the very top as Lee Young Ae and Jeon Ji Hyun both earn 100 million won per drama episode, and the same is true for top … Continue reading →
MBC dropped a one-two punch today, releasing the first official poster for upcoming Wed-Thurs drama She Was Pretty, followed by the first preview with scenes from the drama rather than concept teasers. I find myself continuing to look forward to this rom-com, but seeing the broad physical comedy in the scene preview has me adjusting my expectations accordingly. I don’t … Continue reading →
KBS is getting the cast together fast for upcoming Mon-Tues drama Sassy Go Go (formerly called Cheer Up), which makes sense since the drama is scheduled to air at the end of September following Eccentric Daughter-in-law (The Virtual Bride). With Kim Yoo Jung passing on the title role, Jung Eun Ji has stepped in as a perfect choice to play … Continue reading →
China may be mostly miss when it comes to producing quality C-dramas, but it has the budget and scope to tackle a wider range of projects, especially when it comes to fantasy stories that require a lot of post-production. Case in point the upcoming special effects laden C-drama Ice Fantasy (Chinese title translates as Fantasy Kingdom), with a big name … Continue reading →
Goodness is there a lot of pretty going on in upcoming MBC drama She Was Pretty. I’m thrilled Park Seo Joon finally gets his prime time drama leading man role, and playing a model good looking magazine editor feels like extra eye candy on top. The first stills of second male lead Choi Siwon played up the comedic side, but … Continue reading →
There’s been more shuffling in The Village this week beyond the out-of-left-field casting of relative newbie idol-actor Yook Sung Jae as seasoned actress Moon Geun Young‘s male lead in the drama. I was all ready to just go with that pairing flow since Kim Jae Wook is also going to be in this drama, and I’ve been waiting for him … Continue reading →
I can’t deny that it’s super weird to me to see Yook Sung Jae cast as the male lead of upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama The Village. I don’t dislike it, as per my post two days ago when he joined the drama, but am merely feeling really clueless as how he got cast as the male lead and not just … Continue reading →
Loving Jung Eun Ji is like appreciating an organic chocolate chip cookie – all natural tasty wholesome goodness. It’s hard to find an idol who is good at the singing and acting in equal measure, though not yet outstanding in either pursuit but good is hard enough to come by I’ll take it as is with her. KBS has been readying … Continue reading →
It’s hard to write updates on Jang Geun Seok‘s career when he isn’t active in Korea and isn’t active as an actor. The combination of both was what got me to become a fan, and in the ensuing years he’s chosen to concentrate his career in Japan, where he’s wildly popular, and also to focus on his singing. His lone … Continue reading →
