I’m still interested in KBS Friday night drama Orange Marmalade, the less high profile of the upcoming KBS Friday night drama offering next to the experimental Producer. It’s going to be so weird to have both dramas premiering on the same night one after the other. Orange Marmalade interests me from the manhwa source material side, I still read so … Continue reading →
I can’t believe KBS drama Producer is premiering next Friday already. I’ve liked (though not quite love) all the promos so far for the drama, introducing all four leads equally in a peppy way. Starring Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Soo Hyun, and IU, the arrival of Producer turns the Friday night time slot into a real slug … Continue reading →
The K-remake of TW-drama In Time With You keeps looking more and more promising. There is always the chance that SBS can still manage to combine promising into crap but I’ll take initially promising any day if only to keep my hopes up. The upcoming SBS weekend drama The Time I Loved You, 7000 Days continues to add talented and … Continue reading →
There’s more casting news on the drama front and for ease of discussion I’ve combined it into one post even if it pertains to separate dramas. Most of the casting news is around upcoming SBS epic sageuk Six Dragons Flying which keeps adding to its sprawling cast, with big names like Kim Myung Min and Yoo Ah In in talks already. … Continue reading →
Moo Gak and Cho Rim’s romance is the main reason I love The Girl Who Sees Smells, with bonus points for the bar code serial killer actually being interesting and deadly scary. The police investigation increases in brain power this episode, with the cops finally taking tricks from the killer’s playbook and trying to one up him. Too bad he’s too … Continue reading →
After sitting on the second teaser for the Hong sisters upcoming K-drama Warm and Cozy, I actually like it more the second and third times I watched the short snippet. I still think the official drama posters are so underwhelming and perfunctory as to be an insult to the leads Kang Sora and Yoo Yeon Seok, being told to pose … Continue reading →
Taiwan entertainment is a veritable good news gold mine this year, with the five months of 2015 already chock full of celebrity weddings and pregnancies. Some are unexpected because the ladies in question are on the younger side, but this week comes an unexpected celebrity pregnancy because the star is on the older side. TW-actress Alyssa Chia, who was a … Continue reading →
The first preview for Masked Prosecutor is here, and I honestly feel torn. On one hand, everything looks great right off the bat with the introduction of the two leads. Joo Sang Wook looks believable as a prosecutor, not to mention charismatic and handsome to boot, while Kim Sun Ah is awesome at being a spirited kickass lady cop. Then … Continue reading →
This episode of The Girl Who Sees Smells might as well be titled “he knows, she knows, they all know, everyone knows, so now what?” I feel the drama has enough gas in the tank to propel the remainder of the narrative without deflating now that the secrets are out of the bag. Frankly speaking, this drama didn’t exactly have secrets … Continue reading →
I feel like no matter how Warm and Cozy turns out there will be a devout group of fans that think it’s the best thing since sliced cheese. I’m speaking of the very ardent fans of Kang Sora and Yoo Yeon Seok, and having supportive fans is nothing new and I’m happy for them. With that said, I sure hope … Continue reading →
It’s safe to rejoice about this casting news because it’s confirmed rather than in talks or merely speculative. Movie starlet Park Bo Young is making her drama land return in eight years since Mackerel Run in 2007 as the leading lady for upcoming tvN drama Oh My Ghost. Since Mackerel Run she did cameo roles in a few dramas while … Continue reading →
I can’t figure out if the latest BNT pictorial is good exposure or bad for Yoon Kyun Sang‘s kickstarted acting career. Thanks to a star-making turn in a critical supporting role in Pinocchio playing Lee Jong Seok‘s hyung, Yoon Kyun Sang is garnering all the right attention for his acting ability and potential. Even better is that he’s already done with … Continue reading →
The leads are confirmed now so upcoming jTBC drama Last just needs to get itself a time slot on the cable network. Last is based on a dark webtoon of the same name, dealing with the story of a successful businessman who expects a big payday but ends up losing everything. He then falls into the ranks of the throngs … Continue reading →
