A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s nearly premiere time for romance C-movie The Beloved (Chinese title 重生爱人 means Reborn Lover). Starring C-actress Wang Li Kun, K-actor Kim Bum, and TW-actor Joe Cheng, this movie collected main leads with different ethnicity while sharing the same incredible good looks. The movie premieres on May 15th but the cast descended on last week’s BJIFF (Beijing International Film Festival) to … Continue reading →

The Girl Who Sees Smells Hits a Casting Coup with Namgong Min as the Chef with Ulterior Motives

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

So far The Girl Who Sees Smells isn’t just my favorite currently airing K-drama, it’s also the most spot on with casting the major characters. Setting aside leads Yoochun and Shin Se Kyung, who I just want to gush over each and every week for their perfect chemistry and character portrayal, the spotlight also needs to be shone on second … Continue reading →

Another SNSD Member Off the Market as Yuri is Dating Korean Pitcher Oh Seung Hwan

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Another K-ent dating news started this week off with a fast pitch out of the gate, pardon the pun but I just had to use it since rarely do I get to use baseball jargon. Notch another name off the list of single SNSD (Girl’s Generation) members as Kwon Yuri has just been revealed to be dating Korean relief pitcher … Continue reading →

Yoo Yeon Seok and Kang Sora Have a Warm and Cozy Airport Meet Cute

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Looks like the leads of the upcoming Hong sisters new drama Warm and Cozy are off to a rom-com perfected first meeting. Nothing wrong with a patented K-drama meet-cute at some public place complete with something having gone awry, in this case leading lady Kang Sora seems to be in a logistics crunch while leading man Yoo Yeon Seok comes to … Continue reading →

Scholar Who Walks the Night Holds Script Reading with Leads Lee Jun Ki, Lee Yoo Bi, Changmin, and Kim So Eun

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

And it’s a wrap! At least the casting portion is for upcoming vampire fantasy sageuk drama Scholar Who Walks the Night. I think this drama officially trumps the casting carousel of Kill Me Heal Me, we’ll have to wait until July to see if Scholar turns out as good as KMHM made out with its final cast. Night Scholar held a script … Continue reading →

Lead Cast of The Fierce Wife Reunite After 5 Years with Everyone Now Married

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The older I get the more nostalgic I am, a sentiment that applies to dramas as well. Older dramas I loved appear even more wonderful through the rear view mirror, and I have a super soft spot for reunions and whatnots, even if it’s something that I didn’t watch the first time around. The cast of the 2010 hit SETTV … Continue reading →

Sung Joon Offered the Male Lead in SBS Drama Chaebol’s Daughter

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The prospects are starting to look up again for upcoming SBS drama Chaebol’s Daughter (True Romance). After offering the leads to Moon Geun Young and Park Seo Joon but not landing either of them, the production is starting from scratch again to find the titular chaebol’s daughter and her poor plucky true love. I’d say the disappointment of not getting … Continue reading →

Someone Like You Presents the Swoony Rain Kiss to Challenge All Drama Rain Kisses

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Watching episode 15 of Someone Like You totally makes me hum the chorus from Walk the Moon’s current hit song “Shut Up and Dance”, except I keep chanting shut up and kiss instead LOL. A big shout out thank you to SETTV and drama leads Kingone Wang and Kristen Jen for writing this particular OTP scene and then executing it … Continue reading →

Producer Drops Fun Drama Teaser and BTS Videos of the Leads First Meeting

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I feel like domestic audiences are looking forward to upcoming KBS Fri-Sat night new drama Producer more than overseas fans. Or maybe it just seems that way because the K-media is so curious about a variety of factors surrounding Producer – a short 12-episode drama, being produced by the variety show department of KBS, comeback of Kim Soo Hyun, huge … Continue reading →

Hyun Bin Steps Out for Brand Event Post Hyde, Jekyll, Me Debacle

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s been three weeks since Hyde, Jekyll, Me ended, a blissful three weeks where I didn’t have to watch or recap that abomination passing for a drama. Leading man Hyun Bin stepped out last week for a water filter promotional event where he was the brand endorser. I’m shocked we didn’t get to see Seo Jin drinking filtered water in … Continue reading →

TW-drama Someone Like You Delivers Satisfying Romance in Spades

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Sunday night SETTV drama Someone Like You continues to thrum along nicely, an uncomplicated and sweet little drama featuring two of the most likable leads in a long while. This drama romance also took a long time to get going, with leads Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi finally getting together for the last two episodes. It’s been sweet but I want … Continue reading →

Famous Chinese Actresses Try on the Cinderella Ballgown for Size

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

There’s a viral photo shop series going around this past week featuring a handful of the currently most popular Chinese actresses spliced into the iconic Cinderella live-action movie poster featuring Lily James. It’s totally worth checking out even if the photo shop skills aren’t the best and some of the pictures used of certain actresses are less than ideal choices. It gives a … Continue reading →
