I can’t believe the latest pairing up of Lee Jong Seok and Park Shin Hye isn’t something I find super duper perfect. I may love them individually and together but gosh darn it these latest CF stills from outerwear brand Millet are majorly bland. At least Millet was on the right track in bringing together the two popular leads from … Continue reading →
This break up might end up being good for both sides without any future conflicts. At least from the angle of popularity and potential both sides are doing just fine. One of the biggest movies in China last month was the C-remake of Miss Granny, which is being credited to a warm story and the entire cast acting well. It’s … Continue reading →
This was the most emotional packed episode of Hyde, Jekyll, Me thus far, and luckily doesn’t involve a stupendously fake gorilla escape. The drama works better pared of all the excess trimmings, most of which fall flat or never take off, and instead focus all on the internal struggle between Seo Jin and his guilty conscience. This episode shines because … Continue reading →
The first teasers are out for upcoming tvN drama Super Daddy Yul, which will take over the time slot from Heart to Heart in a few short weeks. It’s trending a bit under the radar since neither leads Lee Dong Gun or Lee Yoo Ri have mania fandoms, but promo buzz matters not as the viewers will come and go … Continue reading →
In a first ever for singer-actor Aaron Yan, he’s just did his first guest-starring stint in someone else’s MV and it’s none other than his same-label mate Selina Jen‘s latest solo album. I don’t foresee a Fahrenheit album anytime soon so Aaron is basically a solo artist now as far as I’m concerned. S.H.E.‘s last album was the 2012 Blossomy … Continue reading →
It’s much more fun watching a drama that’s got some buzz, there’s more ancillary developments that add more flavor to the experience beyond just watching the story unfold onscreen. The news last week that Ji Sung caused a run on Hera brand tip tint in a specific pink color that one of his alter ego personalities sported in the drama … Continue reading →
Part of the allure of K-drama romances is the tension building even with ordinary couples in relatively mundane situations. Who wants to watch a romance that is devoid of the frisson of excitement, which explains how the current easy peasy Ha Na and Robin are dating reveal falls so flat. Hyde, Jekyll, Me picks up when it dips the first toe … Continue reading →
This was slower than usual drama week what with lunar new year falling in the middle of the week. KBS decided to continue the break from airing a prime time drama which started last week when it aired a two episode special, instead saving the upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Unkind Women to premiere next week on Feb 25th. This drama is … Continue reading →
I can’t believe I’m looking forward to a Kim Hee Sun drama considering how much I disliked her acting (screeching) in Faith. As always the opinions of this Koala, and all viewers alike, ought to be mutable depending on the ebbs and flows of an actor’s performance output. She was so wonderful in Wonderful Days I’m of the mind that … Continue reading →
It’s been a few days downtime since the last episode of Hyde, Jekyll, Me and I’m still pretty stoked about this week’s new episodes all thanks to the injection of bad Tae Joo to the mix. It’s pretty interesting to wonder he has up his sleeve to punish and torment Seo Jin. With his hypnosis expertise he can really do … Continue reading →
The top rated Mon-Tues drama Punch wrapped up this week with a drama ratings high note, but the entertainment news coverage was split between that drama ending and the premiere of new KBS drama Blood. The K-netizen reactions towards the drama story line and the acting of the two leads Ahn Jae Hyun and Gu Hye Sun nicely sum up … Continue reading →
I ought to give a thanks to Elle Korea for checking in on super low key real life K-ent couple Lee Chung Ah and Lee Ki Woo for me. They are so under the radar, both as a couple and as actors, I dang forgot they are dating in real life and was actually part of the huge dating explosion … Continue reading →
There was a total “WHUT?” moment when I saw the first SNS posted picture of Korean actor Lee Jun Ki and Taiwanese actor Ethan Ruan. I rubbed my eyes and wondered if somehow my love for both men somehow produced a photoshopped picture just for me. Turns out the fan service wasn’t a figment of my imagination, nor was it … Continue reading →
