I’ve been keeping tabs on the upcoming cable romance drama I Need Romance 3 in the corner of my eye. There is just too much going on these days to fully start anticipating the arrival of the third installment of the INR franchise, especially with the drama not airing until January 13. There are a few more December dramas to … Continue reading →
The two leads of In A Good Way the adorable Lego Lee and Kristen Jen joined the other two currently airing SETTV idol dramas at the network headquarters this week for a celebration of the success of the three dramas. The other two are Deja Vu airing on Sunday nights with Mandy Wei, Yao Yuan Hao, and Jenna Wang and the daily … Continue reading →
I can’t say 2013 has been a great year for me on the personal front, and that sentiment extends to the drama offerings I’ve sampled this year. On the upside is a general feeling of acceptance and I don’t mean that in a depressed and resigned way. I rather came away from the year happy with the ups and relieved … Continue reading →
I’m positively over-the-moon with how wonderful Prime Minister and I continues to be. An hour whips by and I have a giant grin plastered on my face the entire time. The ancillary stuff like plotting uncle and brooding aide and lovelorn chief of staff is sprinkled lightly to keep the action moving, but the drama understands its central purpose which … Continue reading →
This one is for all you Ta Hwan-Seung Nyang shippers. The latest stills are out for episode 16 of Empress Ki and it’s just too pretty not to share. I sometimes forget that Ta Hwan has suffered a lot in his life, mainly because he whines about his travails and also because the other leads have suffered different but just … Continue reading →
I don’t know how In A Good Way keeps packing so much punch with utter ease. Every episode gives me multiple scenes to re-visit, endless discussions to mull over, and infinite squee-worthy looks between the OTP to swoon over. Sometimes I wonder if Kirsten Jen and Lego Lee are falling out of character, especially during the BTS the way they look … Continue reading →
I love this drama and I love even more how happy it makes me. A drama needn’t be perfect to love it as long as it conveys the feeling of love perfectly. While the OTP of Da Jung and Yul in Prime Minister and I are nowhere near tumbling into blissful romance, their are edging closer toward jumping onto a … Continue reading →
Sometimes I wish drama titles could be translated literally because it usually has a much more visceral meaning in the original language. In A Good Way is the English drama title but the Chinese title is Our Era of Freedom. The era part connotes both the period setting, bringing audiences today back to their own past and an era of … Continue reading →
Okay, this is pretty cute. And kudos to the person who thought up the idea, and since the world as they know it in this drama is ruled by the Yuan Emperor Ta Hwan, then props to him for making his competition with Wang Yoo into an actual ball game. The latest stills for episode 15 of Empress Ki is … Continue reading →
I re-watched both episodes of Prime Minister and I this weekend just because. It really is that good right off the bat. If I don’t get episode 3 soon I might snap like a frozen twig in Winter. Thank god there are new drama stills to thaw me out a little. I confess to finding Yoona really pretty for the … Continue reading →
I think I’m going with my gut and checking out Miss Korea first this week. From all the promotional fodder, I’m loving everything from Miss Korea whereas You From Another Star leaves me rather cold and limp. I haven’t seen a set of drama posters I’ve loved in a long time as much as I loved the ones from Miss … Continue reading →
MBC has done a good job promoting Empress Ki prior to its airing and continues to keep up the pace as the drama heads towards wrapping up the first third of its long run. I thought it deflected the “complete historical inaccuracy” complaint (which was valid) by splashing across all its materials that this was a fictional take on the … Continue reading →
If you can see my face right now, it’s currently a cross between the internet memes of “Unimpressed” and “Grumpy Cat”. The officials posters for the upcoming Wed-Thurs SBS drama You From Another Star dropped right before the weekend and I almost face-palmed. Compared to the creative and eye-catching batch of official posters from its rival drama Miss Korea, YFAS … Continue reading →
