The upcoming MBC weekend drama Golden Rainbow just started filming for the extended kids section. Should we all run for the hills now? Start chanting prayers for the cast and crew to make it out alive, and hopefully not lose a chunk of their brain and soul? I think the cast will be fine since everyone is an actor by … Continue reading →
The nominations are out for the 48th Annual Golden Bell Awards, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Emmy’s honoring television’s cream of the crop from producing to directing to acting to variety shows. Last year’s Best Actor winner Bolin Chen and the Best Actress winner from two years ago Tian Xin woke up bright and early to announce the nominees and it … Continue reading →
It may feel like certain actors or actresses have been getting quite a lot of coverage around here and chalk it up to upcoming dramas and corresponding exposure all converging together. Park Shin Hye just went back to Korea after spending a month in Southern California filming the overseas portion of Heirs of Their Inheritors. She likely wrapped up a lot … Continue reading →
I’m not a Lee Ji Ah fan but this casting news makes me happy. Lee Ji Ah is reportedly signing on as the female lead of the upcoming Kim Soo Hyun penned weekend drama Thrice Married Woman. She has come a long way as an actress both personally and professionally since she made the biggest debut acting role I’ve ever … Continue reading →
Kim Bum may be wasting his time in the currently airing sageuk Goddess of Fire, but unlike leads Moon Geun Young and Lee Sang Yoon, he can swan off and get less screen time (win and win) because he needs to do promotions for the upcoming big-budgeted Hong Kong period fantasy movie Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon. … Continue reading →
2013 is going to do down as a year in infamy for breaking drama fangirl hearts. I don’t recall any one year where this many oppas and even young hotties have gone and taken themselves off the market. Is it something in the water over there? The following got hitched: Kim Jae Won, Ji Sung (Lee Bo Young), Lee Byung … Continue reading →
Long time couple Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young’s wedding announcement was only a short three months ago, but it felt much longer because there was such a saturation with news about them ranging from taking engagement pictures in Spain to making friends with the media at the airport. So when they finally got married today on September 27th at … Continue reading →
One of these things is not like the others. LOL, I love how children’s show teaching tools comes in handy when checking out drama stills and trying to describe succinctly what is going on. One guess which of the four leads hasn’t quite gotten into character yet. The production of Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice) is revving up … Continue reading →
I’m not going to miss Two Weeks but gosh darn it I’m going to celebrate its well-deserved accomplishment before attention moves on to the next shiny drama in the pipeline. The cast of Two Weeks held a viewing party as a group and with audience members for the final episode, and there are tons of pictures to share that will … Continue reading →
The first stills are out showing the meeting of leading lady Yoon Eun Hye with second male lead Jung Yong Hwa in Marry Him If You Dare. The scene was filmed outside a convenience store and she’s clearly drinking while complaining away her sorrows and/or annoyances. With how much the two leading men look like brothers, this scene totally screams … Continue reading →
In what felt like a whirlwind airing, Two Weeks wrapped up today with a lovely flourish and a feeling that it all just flew by. The logical bumps and bruises continued in the last episode but the emotional payoff was outstanding and well-earned. It helped to envelope this drama in a wonderful finish, letting us know that the world created … Continue reading →
My interest in the upcoming 50-episode MBC tentpole sageuk Empress Ki (formerly known as Hwatu) has waned considerably since it was announced that Ha Ji Won and Joo Jin Mo would be starring as the leads. The first reason is based on logic and experience – this sucker is airing on MBC which has had an abysmal track record of … Continue reading →
Taking each release of stills from Heirs or The Inheritors one at a time, this is far and away the best pictures of Lee Min Ho as Kim Tan that I’ve seen. He looks relaxed, comfortable, engaged and alert, and most importantly, he’s connecting with his surfboard. It would be hilarious if Lee Min Ho has more chemistry with his … Continue reading →
