The Me Too, Flower! national drama nightmare finally comes to an end. In a never ending cycle of is-he-in-or-is-he-out, the news out of Korea today is that Kim Jae Won has officially been replaced. Setting aside the drama is scheduled to premiere in two weeks, and even though MBC already announced it intends to delay the premiere, that still butts up against Kim Jae Won needing … Continue reading →
I like Man of Honor. Two episodes in, I really really like it. I like the two leads, both the actors and their characters, that it keeps me interested in the story. With the set-up portion done, already I’m chafing at the bit to watch more. This drama is so eye-catching, the colors vivid and the scenes filmed with an … Continue reading →
Nicky Wu is the one cast member from Bu Bu Jing Xin to experience the most meteoric rise in popularity from the drama, since his performance as 4th Prince was just so unforgettable. He just started filming his next drama, the period investigative Xing Ming Shi Ye adapted from a novel of the same name, co-starring Wallace Huo. Funny enough, … Continue reading →
Without Alice Ke and Roy Qui, Office Girls would be a bust. I mean it. As much as I’m loving the drama, these two elevate every single line of dialogue and animate every scene they are in. OG is such a guilty pleasure for me, I find myself snarfing randomly whenever I say an English phrase that Zi Qi tosses … Continue reading →
I had heard murmurings that Kang Ji Hwan‘s upcoming movie Detective Cha was going to co-star Kim Sarang, who I like but don’t exactly have this burning desire to see her act opposite him. Then today I literally got the news I’ve been waiting four freaking long years for – GilNok is back, baby! Yes, for all you Hong Gil … Continue reading →
Imagine, if you will, a hot steaming tub of bathwater someone else filled up. You’re dying to slip right in but you have no clue if the temperature is right for you. So you dip a hand or a toe into the tub to check the temperature, hoping you’d give a sigh of relief at finding it to your liking so … Continue reading →
The Korean acting industry is much like Hollywood in that its biggest movie stars rarely return to the small screen once they have transitioned successfully to a movie career. Viewers watching Korean dramas may think certain actors or actresses must be household names in Korea, it’s actually the movie stars that get all the respect and acclaim over there. October’s … Continue reading →
The cast of the upcoming mega-period war movie Saving General Yang has been in the outskirts of Beijing filming for the past month or so, with very little leaking from the set. I really must congratulate Wu Zun (who plays Sixth Brother) on his 32nd birthday, which feels like he has been celebrating for the better part of the entire … Continue reading →
KBS has released a preview for episode 1 of Man of Honor (Glory Jane), which premieres tomorrow. While I really liked the early teasers and even the long trailer, this preview makes me a little hesitant again. Everything looks So. Dramatic. And then slightly bipolar when combined with all the cheeriness from the other trailers. I’ve been going through a long … Continue reading →
As all the attention in Japan is focused on KimuTaku‘s upcoming Nankyoku Tairiku for TBS, but rival Fuji TV‘s Boku to Star no 99 Nichi (My 99 Days with the Star) could be the perfect counter programming for those looking for fluff. I’m not highbrow enough to dislike fluff on principle, and clearly love crappy dramas as long as it … Continue reading →
It’s rare that a currently airing small screen couple will simultaneously have a big screen collaboration released at the same time, which is what is happening later this month when Ariel Lin and Bolin Chen’s movie Lovesick comes out. The three leads, Ariel, Bolin, and Li Yi Feng, are hitting multiple cities in China for fan meetings and media events … Continue reading →
MBC‘s upcoming drama Me, Too Flower! isn’t just accident-prone, the reaction to said accident is the oddest I’ve ever encountered. Leading man Kim Jae Won was in an on set motorcycle accident on the first day of filming (which already screams bad omen to me), which has been diagnosed as requiring surgery and about a month’s rest. Initially the production … Continue reading →
That be some serious shirt ripping going on in this drama. O__O Was not expecting that at all. The second teaser has dropped for the upcoming SBS drama Thousand Day Promise, starring Su Ae and Kim Rae Won. The first half has the same mood as the first teaser, all melancholy and moody longing. But the second half of the … Continue reading →
