Keeping my expectations low is turning out to be pretty hard when it comes to the upcoming KBS spy rom-com Spy Myung Wol (Beautiful Spy) with Han Ye Seul and Eric. I am just so excited about Eric’s comeback drama, and his role appears to suit him to a T. The cast attended the obligatory press conference on Monday, where the … Continue reading →
When I watched this episode of Drunken to Love You I just had this desire to break out in song and dance to celebrate the continued unbelievable awesome of male lead Song Jie Xiu. Conversely I also had a desire to just lock Xiao Ru up in a room with him and not open the door until she gets over … Continue reading →
Ever since Drunken to Love You premiered back in April, people have been asking for the songs off the OST. From Magic Power to Yen-J to Rainie Yang, the songs have been one hit after another ranging from edgy rock to soft ballads. I brought download links earlier here and here. The DTLY OST officially drops on July 22nd (you … Continue reading →
Material Queen feels like an anomaly. It’s like the incongruity of having The Sopranos air on the CW after an episode of Gossip Girl. It’s thought-provoking, with none of the characters being one-dimensionally stupid or as a plot device. Episode 2 completes the Paris arc and moves the story back to Taiwan again, where suddenly the world of MQ doubles … Continue reading →
Sometimes context and medium does make a huge difference. Two weeks ago I posted the stills from Jang Geun Seok and Lee Min Jung‘s W Korea pictorial, which was actually shot for the Cartier Bague line. I didn’t like the stills that much – I found them interesting but not terribly embraceable. But now that I’ve watched the official making-of-video, … Continue reading →
The upcoming SBS weekend drama Scent of a Woman with Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Wook is in the heat of filming to ready itself for it’s late July premiere. The cast recently went to Japan to for its location shoot and held a press conference there. The production also released a slew of new stills to whet our … Continue reading →
Skip Beat (Extravagant Challange) is nearing the end of its filming, and this week Donghae wrapped all his scenes and tearfully bid farewell to Taiwan. He was given flowers by the crew and he started crying because it was such an overwhelming experience for him. He promised to join the cast and crew in Bali to celebrate when the drama … Continue reading →
It sucks when your favorite drama ends yet you want to spend time with the onscreen pairing that captivated you. I go through these withdrawals periodically, which are usually ameliorated by the fact that I have an attention span of a gnat. Though when it comes to my GeunGeuns and HwanHye, I’m in it for the long haul. People keep … Continue reading →
At this point it’s impossible to argue that Park Shi Hoo and Moon Chae Won don’t make a gorgeous onscreen couple. The first teaser trailer for The Princess’s Man has been released, and it’s a doozy. That Red One camera (used to film Chuno last year) is no joke. The colors and the clarity are astonishing to behold. Story-wise, it … Continue reading →
As a cardinal rule of Koalalandia, I do not RL ship unless there is BTS evidence to show me something is percolating outside of acting alone. Onscreen chemistry, however unparallel and combustible, is not enough to pine away for couples to get together. ArJoe-shippers the world over must know the pain, but I avoided that ship because all BTS and … Continue reading →
Looks like Taiwan newest bromance is here to stay. Ethan Ruan and Mark Chao are reuniting with their Monga director Doze Niu for his upcoming movie LOVE. After smashing the TW-box office last Summer with Monga, which also netted Ethan a Best Actor trophy at the Golden Horse Awards, Ethan has been waiting to film The Flying Guillotine with Huang … Continue reading →
The news broke last week that Sunshine Angel with Wu Zun and Rainie Yang would be airing in July, but I had no clue it would be airing starting July 6th. Which is next week! Boy those C-television stations move fast. Three more trailers have dropped, and I have officially verified in my mind that this is indeed a remake … Continue reading →
Remember what I said about the Lie to Me having a post-wedding epilogue which was either filmed but cut from the broadcast, or simply not filmed at all. DC Lie has what is supposedly the script for the two cut scenes. I think it sounds real enough (thought it could be fanfiction, but who cares), so I will do a … Continue reading →
