Hahahaha, this casting is straight out of fan fiction but there is clearly is a shred of possibility as it’s making the rounds in C-drama casting rumors within the industry. There is talk of Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi doing a second go-around for the wuxia period drama The Year of the Book (书君年 Shu Jun Nian). I will believe … Continue reading →
So the Queen herself Kim Ji Won and the Tears himself Kim Soo Hyun are just two totally different family background people trying to make a marriage work in upcoming tvN drama The Queen of Tears. So all lot of the tension and vastly disparate life experiences is going to come from the family members around them as evidenced in … Continue reading →
So hit screenwriter Park Ji Eun isn’t just known for making entertaining and highly rated K-dramas that provide a swoony romance for the main leads, she’s also known for a string of well-written and sometimes even scene-stealing secondary leads and/or couples which has led to many a breakout opportunities. In You From Another Star it benefitted Yoo In Na and … Continue reading →
Omomomo, what big names are coming in for a surprise visit soon on the small screen. I’m sorry not sorry I posted these two stars together but both cameos came out in the news on the same day so it’s just easier to squeeze it into one post. I do not care about their past personal life connection whatsoever, both … Continue reading →
So K-actress Song Ha Yoon has been in the industry for 21 years (!!!) and has only just broken out, so she deserves to bask in this limelight and enjoy it for as long as she likes. She was interviewed for a post-drama chat after Marry My Husband finished this week and she expressed on living the role of Jung … Continue reading →
What a difference a few months and a hit drama makes, and for C-actress Tang Yan it’s literally night and day. She was on the downswing the last three years and even got mocked by her own fans for her agency released really fashionably cheesy pictures for her birthday. But after the C-drama Blossoms Shanghai came out last month in … Continue reading →
Holy drama gods am I so excited for this one. The rom-com K-drama Between Greetings kicked off filming this week as female lead Han Ji Min posted a picture of her at the script reading. Her male lead is Lee Joon Hyuk and having two established veteran incredibly strong actors onscreen together makes me so happy. Bonus points for this … Continue reading →
So this is an oldie but hopefully a goodie as well. The fantasy realm war C-drama Eternal Brotherhood (紫川 Zi Chuan which means Purple River) is on deck to air next week at the end of February on both iQiyi and Tencent streaming. The drama stars three male leads Yang Xu Wen, Liu Yu Ning, and Zhang Ming En and … Continue reading →
With C-drama Amidst a Snowstorm of Love with Wu Lei and Zhao Jin Mai, I feel like a mom who should be having fun watching their kid compete in a game but instead I zoned out but will perk up to clap loudly should he/she win the match kind of situation. The modern sports themed romance C-drama just wrapped its … Continue reading →
It’s finale week for tvN Mon-Tues drama Marry My Husband and hit series went into the final week weaker due to recent plot shenanigans but managed to end up a satisfying note. Two baddies got the transferred death fates and the third got jail time plus going crazy, so for a drama about a wronged woman getting revenge she certainly … Continue reading →
Okay, I know I’m like Charlie Brown with Lucy’s football on this one but I really really want to watch this drama and this latest news is different enough to merit a post. C-drama The Prisoner of Beauty with Liu Yu Ning and Song Zu Er has changed the official Chinese title to 烽火红绡 (Beacon Fire Red Silk) from the … Continue reading →
So it’s either real snow in Hendian since it’s winter or man made snow but either way it makes the leads pretty as a picture for sure. Ding Yu Xi and Deng En Xi have been filming the period romance drama Chang Le Qu (长乐曲) which translates to Long Happy Tune and is adapted from a C-novel of a slightly … Continue reading →
I don’t think there is anything bad about this and does bode well for the nimbleness of the production in changing up the format. Originally slated as a thriller K-movie, Tyrant which is done filming and through post-production has instead pivoted to becoming a short 4-episode drama airing on Disney+. Starring Cha Seung Won, Kim Sun Ho, and Kim Kang … Continue reading →
