This summer felt like travel went from 0 to 100 as the two years of COVID stay at home restrictions and decisions lifted in full, for good and for bad, and suddenly everyone and their great-grandmothers are traveling. Perhaps if it was during peak stay at home era airing this new show In the Soop: Friendcation there might be higher … Continue reading →

So the order of the GIFs and pictures are in the ranking of how frequently K-netizens discuss wanting these two to work together. I can’t disagree with most dream pairings especially when the perfectly curated GIF delivers all the feels in mere seconds of a stitched together scene. To date, the most common wish is for Hyun Bin and Jeon … Continue reading →

Can’t believe the summer is quickly coming to a close so it’s time to look at the early fall K-dramas on the horizon. tvN Fri-Sat is currently airing I Have Not Done My Best Yet which aired earlier on streaming already so it’s basically a place holder for the time slot. A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is a fight as old as time, but I do appreciate the levity of throwing in more than just lead and second lead choices. Netflix asked its viewers of four of its streamed K-dramas if you would choose between A or B if you are the lead character. In Extraordinary Attorney Woo it’s between cutie patootie Jun Ho and … Continue reading →

Slightly Better Character Posters for Confidential Assignment 2 with Hyun Bin and Yoo Hae Jin Back for Round 2 Against Jin Seon Kyu

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Haha, maybe the graphic designer on the movie Confidential Assignment 2: International Cooperation heard all the complaints about how low budget and dumb the official movie posters were. So for the individual movie character posters at least each character looks less stiff albeit three dudes are literally doing the exact same pose. It’s the gun drawn one of course, with … Continue reading →

Allen Ren and Zhao Lu Si Reportedly Cast in Period Wuxia Drama Sword Comes

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Ooooh this pairing is so up my alley! C-ent casting blogs are saying that Allen Ren and Zhao Lu Si are cast in an upcoming period drama. It’s called Sword Comes (or Sword Arrives) a short two word title but from the title it’s clearly a wuxia drama and not a xianxia (fantasy) drama. Both have had hit dramas in … Continue reading →

Anna PD Lee Joo Young Publicly Airs Grievance Over Coupang Play Unilaterally Editing Her Drama and Broadcasting it Over Her Objection

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is a frequent occurrence in the world of entertainment but its still so frustrating and demoralizing. I’ve heard of scripts getting re-written, dialogues getting changed, character trajectories getting changed midway through, and of course a final product getting re-edited. That’s apparently what happened to recently aired K-drama Anna, which got solid reviews and was the biggest drama hit for … Continue reading →

Han Hyo Joo in Talks to Join Joo Ji Hoon in Sci-fi Drama Dominant Species By Screenwriter of Secret Forest

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I feel like this is old school casting and in a good way. Han Hyo Joo has been offered the female lead in 2023 sci-fi drama Dominant Species (Dominion) which would pair her with Joo Ji Hoon who has been cast as the male lead. I mention old school because they basically debuted the exact same time in the mid-2000 … Continue reading →

The first teaser video is out for upcoming xianxia meets Republican era romance C-drama Thousand Years For You (Chinese title 请君 Qing Jun or a greeting that means “Please, Your Lord”). … Continue reading →

Art is 100% subjective and even the most out there artworks have their creators and fans. With that said, there is a majority zone by which art is enjoyed and the weirder art tends to fall outside that norm. K-actress Han So Hee has been posted art pictures on her Instagram lately and even her fans are not very uncomfortable … Continue reading →
