This will be a first in K-drama land. jTBC is currently winning the ratings race with the hit Fri-Sat drama The World of the Married, coming after the hit Itaewon Class and even surpassing it. Due to COVID-19 concerns, jTBC has decided to slow down production on the drama to air after The World of the Married (good idea!) and … Continue reading →
Social distancing life of spring 2020 will not and should not stop the gathering of friends, family, and caring people in South Korea to memorialize the 6th anniversary of the Sewol Ferry sinking. K-stars were posting about it which is great because I forgot this anniversary so there is good from stars commenting about public events. It was April 16th, … Continue reading →
It’s finally here woo hoo! Finally the wait is over and something interesting to watch is only a day away to look forward to. The cast of SBS Fri-Sat drama The King: Eternal Monarch attended the obligatory press conference today in Seoul and everyone got a dress code message, or at least I think so and the lone outlier did … Continue reading →
This is one of the rare good news to come out of the good news shortage 2020 so far. Japanese idols Yamashita Tomohisa and Kamenashi Kazuya have reunited for a May 2020 mini dome tour starting in Osaka and ending on Tokyo. The two worked together musically first as the fictional Shuji to Akira named after their characters in hit … Continue reading →
Woo hoo, a great new variety show season to look forward to and an even better first guest star. K-actress Gong Hyo Jin will be the first guest on the upcoming new season 4 of Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village. The original three leads are back to cook and fish including Cha Seung Won, Yoo Hae Jin, and Son … Continue reading →
Dang, I’m getting so excited about KBS Mon-Tues drama Born Again, probably because I think both male leads Jang Ki Yong and Lee Soo Hyuk are so charismatic in different ways. Also I’m not in the camp of thinking Jin Se Yeon is the worst actress to walk the earth, she’s not bad in the right roles and with the … Continue reading →
OMG this is such a fun, subjective, and totally debatable what-if topic. K-netizens on TheQoo have started a discussion topic asking what of the first-gen Hallyu top actresses would have been the visual center spot had they all debuted in one idol group together. Would it be brainy Kim Tae Hee (162 cm), versatile Jeon Ji Hyun (173.5 cm), feminine … Continue reading →
This feels like a new wedding pictorial I don’t recall seeing before. TW-stars Summer Meng and Mickey Huang registered their marriage last month legally, really low key since it’s social distancing and all, not to mention it’s also a trend for TW-ent couples to register their marriage and either forgo a ceremony or hold it much later. Despite not having … Continue reading →
Cable network tvN has found its leads for upcoming sci-fi thriller K-drama LUCA, which stands for Last Universal Common Ancestor which is an evolutionary theory. The drama was first offered to Ji Chang Wook who declined and is instead filming Convenience Store Morning Star. Now we have both the male and female leads confirmed and it’s Kim Rae Won paired … Continue reading →
There are so many starts and stops right now in K-movie land thanks to COVID-19. Some movies had to halt filming, others delayed start, and even more movies were supposed to premiere in February and March and have been delayed. A movie further out in the horizon has my attention thanks to the cast: Honey Lee will be the female … Continue reading →
K-actress Su Ae has been the face of the webtoon version of Remarried Empress (originally a web novel) so the upcoming K-drama adaptation will definitely have her name in the mix. But her age makes the entire series about ten years older than in the original story and I would rather the cast be younger because everyone is so emotionally … Continue reading →
Next week is the arrival of KBS Mon-Tues reincarnation romance thriller drama Born Again, starring Jang Ki Yong, Jin Se Yeon, and Lee Soo Hyuk. I’m actually quite interested in this drama, the concept has plenty of angst to milk and it’s all coming from male lead Jang Ki Yong based on how beaten down but still smexy he looks … Continue reading →
If you had told me two years ago when I was hooked on horror thriller drama The Guest that leading lady Jung Eun Chae would one day impress me with her glamorous side I would have laughed you off. She was so endearing as the crass and grungy cop investigating a series of supernatural homicides, I wanted to see her … Continue reading →
