It’s a step too late on the trendy wagon for Taiwan to remake hit K-drama Descendants of the Sun, what with Goblin coming along as successor to the buzz. But this remake aims to actually combine entertainment with military recruitment which hits both stones that DotS promoted. The Taiwan Defense Department is funding the Taiwan drama remake of DotS, and … Continue reading →

Actress Kim So Yeon and her actor boyfriend and drama costar Lee Sang Woo have announced their upcoming wedding this June. They news comes six months after the thirty-something couple confirmed their relationship in September of 2016, which was shortly after they wrapped filming on … Continue reading →
I can’t wait to check out intense new Mon-Tues drama Whisper, taking over in the time slot from highly rated predecessor Defendant. The first episode garnered 13.9% ratings, 0.6% less than Defendant premiering at 14.5%. The competition used this new arrival to reset with Rebel: The Thief Who Stole the People close behind at 13.8% ratings and Ms. Perfect increasing … Continue reading →
The three year long wait is over as Yoon Eun Hye has officially made her K-ent comeback with an April pictorial in Marie Claire Korea. Since finishing the thoroughly frustrating and disappointing Marry Him if You Dare (Mirae’s Choice) at the end of 2013, she’s done a movie and a Chinese fashion variety show, neither of which tap into her … Continue reading →
A long rumored dating gossip is getting a second wind thanks to the usual K-tabloid sleuthing. Baek Jin Hee and Yoon Hyun Min are once again caught up in dating rumors after pictures hit the internet to start the news week off, showing them on what appears to be a date. Back in 2016 they were involved in a dating … Continue reading →
This is one drama casting where I’d keep three out of four choices and ask for a substitute. But since it’s a done deal I’ll still check it out because both male leads are always worth watching. Ji Hyun Woo and Kim Ji Hoon are confirmed for upcoming MBC weekend drama Bad Thief, Good Thief, and will be joined by … Continue reading →
Spring is here so go strap on the running shoes and enjoy the fair weather outside. Elle Korea has a new pictorial with Gong Hyo Jin featuring New Balance sneakers, and like everything she tries on it looks just right for her. The sneakers are shown in white, turquoise, and red, with Gong Hyo Jin lolling around a hotel room … Continue reading →
The reboot or continuation of K-drama Cheese in the Trap has kicked off as the movie cast gathered for their first production meeting. The only returnee from the drama is male lead Park Hae Jin, while the rest of the well-cast drama leads Kim Go Eun, Seo Kang Joon, and Lee Sung Kyung are all out. I don’t have a … Continue reading →
Holy fashion fail 80’s! I can’t believe I’m seeing this but the big shoulder pads on women wearing blazers trend from the 1980’s appears to be poised for a revival. Which means I’m getting my scissors ready along with needle and thread to cut it out of my suit jackets and sew those babies back to slim perfection. Sometimes I … Continue reading →
Being queen is usually a terrible fate when it comes to sageuk female leads, the ones who had a happy princess life before will find it a romance and personal life killer once they ascend the top spot. That makes it even worse when she gets to be a queen for just 7 days, which is story behind upcoming KBS … Continue reading →
This dorama looks majorly adorable, as hoped and expected when I hear the three leads casting consisting of three of my J-ent baes. There’s Kamenashi Kazuya doing his version of the earnest lovelorn suitor, Yamapi as his magical and cool ikemen matchmaker, and Kimura Fumino sporting a delightful short do and a no nonsense glower as the lady of the … Continue reading →
Not following a drama means being slightly out of the loop on timing, which is why I’m surprised that tvN Fri-Sat drama Tomorrow With You is ending next week and Chicago Typewriter is premiering two weeks from Friday. I doubt CT will be trying to ape the massive ratings of tvN hits such as Goblin and the Reply series, but … Continue reading →
The last time a K-drama put a honey of mine in a mask it did not end, I’m still mildly traumatized by Lee Jun Ki being so wasted in the narrative and directorial hot mess that was Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo. I hope MBC knows what it’s doing for spring sageuk Ruler – Master of the Mask, because if … Continue reading →
