Okay, I’m officially in love with Lee Jun Ki‘s version of 4th Prince from Bu Bu Jing Xin. I know it increases the odds for disappointment to fall for a character in advance of watching the drama but holy drama gods is he’s insanely gorgeous and dangerous in all the right sageuk male lead ways. In the newest preview for … Continue reading →
I never question or behoove a star using his or her influence and popularity to give back to society no matter what cause. A good deed is a good deed, except in this case Lee Min Ho is highlighting a cause I never once thought was even a cause, i.e. this was actually a widespread issue. Min Ho-sshi launched the … Continue reading →
The last month couldn’t have gone any better for K-actor Gong Yoo as he just netted the biggest career success of his already impressively popular achievements. The hit zombie on trains movie Train to Busan just crossed the 10 million viewer mark in South Korea, making it only the 14th movie in the history of South Korean box office to … Continue reading →
Now this is more like it, or at least more like what I was expecting from upcoming KBS Mon-Tues youth romance sageuk Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. The third teaser is out and expands on the traditional stylings of the second teaser rather than the oddball dance crew modern weirdness of the first preview. Park Bo Gum is suitably princely – … Continue reading →
August has been a slow month for drama premieres so far as the new arrivals came earlier in the summer. The month end will see the arrival of two big prime time dramas in Moonlight Drawn by Clouds and the K-drama version of Bu Bu Jing Xin, but on the weekends there’s the stylish and warm like a well-worn suit … Continue reading →
Since it’s a drama about mermaids, of course the location shoot will feature locales with impressive ocean and shoreline vistas. Filming is about to commence for upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Legend of the Blue Sea by sending leads Jeon Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho jetting off at the end of August. Lee Min Ho is no stranger to overseas … Continue reading →
Lest we forgot it’s just OTP romance and/or princes in the upcoming K-drama adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin, the production is officially introducing the last piece of the cast pie in the supporting female cast and one funny man in Kim Sung Kyun whatever weird explorer/investor fella he’s playing. All of the supporting actresses from the C-version of BBJX … Continue reading →
The remake of a twenty year old movie that was itself not very good feels like a lesson in pointlessness. Except the trailer for the C-movie version of My Best Friend’s Wedding actually works for me, and it’s solely on the charisma and charm of leading lady Shu Qi much like original lead Julia Roberts sold the half-baked script. The … Continue reading →
Like it or not, the next adaptation of shoujo manga story Itazura na Kiss (It Started with a Kiss) is coming soon like a train that doesn’t even realize it’s making the umpteenth round into the same station. Will viewers board this version? Some will and likely enough to make it worthwhile to keep churning this out with new and … Continue reading →
Things are locked and loaded for upcoming tvN political thriller drama K2, or more specifically now title The K2. I wonder if adding The lends it more gravitas, or less association with the second highest mountain in the world since this isn’t a mountaineering drama. The leads have assembled as filming kicks off this weekend for the drama to take … Continue reading →
It’s more princes for the win as Korean Bu Bu Jing Xin just dropped more official posters and stills to remind viewers that it’s not just Lee Jun Ki and IU in this drama but instead lots and lots of good looking and charismatic actors. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) has a tough hill to follow on the … Continue reading →
From the rumors to the confirmation of casting, upcoming SBS fantasy drama Legend of the Blue Sea is taking actual shape and form unlike the mystical mermaid at the center of the tale. The drama has the one-two-three punch of being from the screenwriter Park Ji Eun of You From Another Star and Producer, and starring top Hallyu stars Lee … Continue reading →
I love the first character stills of male lead Joo Sang Wook in upcoming jTBC drama Fantastic, right now if I elect to check out the drama it’s all on account of him. Joo Sang Wook is going back to his unexpected comedic roots, playing a self-absorbed top Korean actor who sucks at acting but doesn’t know it, lol. The … Continue reading →
