I feel like there are a handful of Korean drama actors and actresses who maintain success in the industry despite the declining ratings across the board, and the group is definitely larger than the eight being discussed here. K-news portal Osen recently published an article discussing the current four actors and four actresses who remain a lock in delivering ratings. … Continue reading →
Even though I was already looking forward to upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Sassy Go Go, I’m still surprised by how much I really really liked the long preview. The drama doesn’t just look promising, I’m already connected with the trials and tribulations of the two leads played by Jung Eun Ji and Lee Won Geun. She’s the slacker who rather … Continue reading →
For years I’ve been seeing these types of pre-star pictures floating around here and there, and finally decided to collect as many as I can into one post. Half of it is for my own viewing lulz and the other half is to share since so many folks like one or more of these K-actors. This collection of school-aged pictures … Continue reading →
I find the Chinese remake of 90’s Hollywood movie My Best Friend’s Wedding ridiculously well-cast even if two decades too late in terms of timing. The movie script for the original was terrible but the whole thing coasted on the mega-watt appeal of Julia Roberts and her unexpected chemistry with Rupert Everett. For the C-remake, popular and critically acclaimed Taiwanese actress … Continue reading →
One side benefit of Moon Geun Young choosing the SBS corpse mystery thriller The Village (Achiara’s Secret) as her next drama is all the great flashbacks to one of her best movies in The Tale of Two Sisters. She wasn’t anywhere near being the lead, not with Im Soo Jung, Uhm Jung Ah and Kim Gab Soo around, but that … Continue reading →
Now I’m wondering if the media has tons of secret YoonJae shippers, how else to explain why K-ent overly covered the week end military performance event where former DBSK group mates Yunho and Jaejoong were in joint attendance. Yunho was the MC while Jaejoong performed, so they weren’t even interacting or on the same stage at any given time, but … Continue reading →
Park Bo Gum is like a tall glass of ice cold milk for me, deliciously refreshing and wholesome, but also sexy because of all the nutrients within. That’s my way of saying that he’s more than just a pretty pretty face, which is undeniable, but also comes with riveting acting potential lurking inside. His casting as the male lead in … Continue reading →
I wrote a few months back about the manhwa So I Married an Anti-fan getting a K-drama adaptation. The whole idea just sounds like an updated version of Full House, what with the commoner and the top star in reluctant fake marriage/cohabitation, except upping the stakes with the common girl being an anti-fan of the male lead rather than just … Continue reading →
There has been so much drama news coming out of SBS lately, of equal good and measure variety, so what’s one more added to the mix, right? The network is currently prepping a heartwarming fantasy drama for early 2016 based on the well received Japanese novel Tsubakiyama Kacho no Nanokakan (translated as Director Tsubakiyama’s 7 Days Time) by writer Asada … Continue reading →
This is an unique foursome set to show up at the same fashion event, but you won’t hear me complaining since I like all four and am loving the black and white stylings of said event. Hyun Bin, Go Ara, Yoo Ji Tae, and Lee Yo Won attended the Uniqlo and Lemaire event in Seoul this week, the launch of a … Continue reading →
I wonder what Ji Chang Wook fans think about this upcoming casting news? From a career progression perspective, I think it’s a smart move as long as he’s vetted the production and script as going into China would be a logical next step for him. Ji Chang Wook is apparently confirmed for upcoming Korean-Chinese joint produced drama My Male God. … Continue reading →
While I’m not terribly devastated that upcoming drama Goodbye Mr. Black lost its time slot on SBS following soon-to-premiere drama The Village (Achiara’s Secret), overall it is something to lament because the cast of Moon Chae Won, Lee Jin Wook, Kim Kang Woo, and Song Jae Rim has the combination of charm and acting talent to pave over the usual … Continue reading →
The timing feels a bit off for upcoming tvN drama Bubblegum, it’s the drama following Rude Miss Young Ae on Mon-Tues but I keep thinking it’s going to be Cheese in the Trap since that drama was announced first. Starring Lee Dong Wook, Jung Ryeo Won, Lee Jong Hyuk, and Park Hee Bon, the drama is set in a radio … Continue reading →
