The 2015 Baeksang Art Awards was this week and the funniest bit was hands down courtesy of JYP (Park Jin Young) and Lee Min Ho. I don’t know if it was scripted by both, or one side knew but the other party was clueless, whatever led up to it the result was glorious. JYP was performing a set during the awards, … Continue reading →
What did I just say about love being in the air and more good relationship news coming this way? I actually didn’t see this one coming so quickly, figured it would be year end before these two tied the knot, so seeing the bombshell news was a fun midweek hump surprise. A-list Chinese movie star Huang Xiaoming pulled a Nicky … Continue reading →
With summer right around the corner, I like to believe love is in the air again whether for stars or regular folks alike. Hopefully there will be more good dating news to come starting with one new confirmed case involving one of my favorite actors which makes me so thrilled to hear. C-actor Yuan Hong confirmed on a variety show this … Continue reading →
This could either be taken as super cute or super nervewracking for Song Joong Ki. The young man (not a boy any longer even if he still looks like one) was released from the army this past Monday morning and on hand was not just his devoted fans and the excited K-media. Hidden in the throngs of welcomers was none … Continue reading →
It’s so nice of KBS drama Producer to give me a two-fer this week – I’ve fallen for the charms of the drama in the second week and in the third week comes a cameo by a K-star whom I love to pieces. Lee Seung Gi will be showing up in the 6th episode of the variety show drama and will … Continue reading →
I actually quite enjoy when an actor or actress I previously dismissed end up winning my affection through improving their craft. It was Kim Tae Hee in 2013 with Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love, followed by Lee Yeon Hee in 2014 for Miss Korea. This year it’s Shin Se Kyung‘s turn to take a bow and join my happy … Continue reading →
The 68th Cannes Film Festival came to a close this past weekend and the film with one if the biggest buzz walked away with one but not all the major awards. Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao Hsien‘s first wuxia movie The Assassins starring Shu Qi and Chang Chen didn’t win the Palm D’or but finally netted Hou his long overdue Best … Continue reading →
Some things need no preamble, and K-actor Song Joong Ki being released today after serving nearly two years of mandatory military service is one of those things that require no explanation for the excitement. Fans and throngs of K-media have been camped outside his military base since before dawn so Song Joong Ki’s exit walk was met with camera clicking … Continue reading →
This probably doesn’t bode well on the quality predictor scale that I’m this excited about upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama High Society (formerly Chaebol’s Daughter and briefly flirted with being called True Romance). And then I realize that plenty of dramas I’ve loved have been less than stellar fare but simply delivered a stirring romance. With that fallback option available, I can … Continue reading →
Oh wow, I think this one might just work for me. Falling for Innocence wrapped up its run on jTBC this past week but the follow up drama My Love Eun Dong got a jump start on airing by releasing three short webisodes online to tease the audience. It worked on me, the whole thing gives off an old-fashioned innocent … Continue reading →
First off, I could find a non-shirtless picture of C-actor Li Chen for this post…..but why should I LOL? C’mon, we need to see for ourselves exactly what the glorious Ms. Fan Bing Bing is all gaga over, right? The period C-drama Empress of China made waves late last year thanks to boob-gate, but it also spawned what has become … Continue reading →
I’m tempted to ask for a re-do on the upcoming period C-drama God of War Zhao Zhi Long, or at least a re-do on Yoona‘s portion only so that she can get her drama look transformed into something suitable to highlight her lanky modern beauty. It’s distressing that the production turned her into a washed out servant girl look, a … Continue reading →
It’s going to be awhile longer until currently filming TW-drama Marry Me, or Not hits the airwaves. The cast has been filming since February and should be wrapping up soon, but the drama looks to get on the TTV schedule sometime in late 2015, my estimate is October at the earliest. I’m patient when it comes to waiting for quality fare … Continue reading →
