Almost all my posts about Lin Chi Ling are invariably negative since I write about acting projects and that is the very medium where she sucks so bad as to defy description. It’s not even her fault really since she’s a model and not even trying to sell herself as an actress, but her very stratospheric levels of fame as … Continue reading →
Thank the drama gods the weekend of drama casting craziness is over with the news Monday morning out of Korea much more promising. Perpetual second lead Sung Joon will be joining Hyun Bin and Han Ji Min in the split personality K-drama Hyde, Jekyll, and I airing on SBS Wed-Thurs following Pinocchio come next January. It’s a bit early for the … Continue reading →
This year has seen plenty of flame out K-dramas of the Go Big or Go Home variety that unfortunately went down the slink home in shame style. Big name stars with big budgets and/or big expectations such as My Lovely Girl or Tomorrow’s Cantabile or You’re All Surrounded, dramas that never lived up to the hype either in ratings or … Continue reading →
The production of the upcoming fantasy wuxia C-drama The Journey of Flower (花千骨 Hua Qian Gu) didn’t capture my full interest since I didn’t read the popular online C-novel by writer Fresh Guo Guo. I’ve heard good things about it and the drama casting was right up my preferred alley with leads Wallace Huo and Zhao Li Ying being two … Continue reading →
Okay, this has now officially become the worst K-drama casting week in recent memory, stinking up the joint with a series of out-of-the-blue and inexplicable lead casting that has now reached gender balanced levels. On the heels of MBC‘s big budget Kill Me Heal Me casting rookie Lim Ji Yeon (and not a good actress in her rookie outing to … Continue reading →
The end of the year starts counting down now and with it comes the unending stream of polls, surveys, and lists. Which makes it a good time to check back in with Japan entertainment to see how the tastes have changed, if any, after a bustling 2014 worth of doramas and movies. Below are two just released polls showing how … Continue reading →
My interest in Kill Me Heal Me is now completely lopsided in one direction. It isn’t always this way, just because I’m a female viewer doesn’t mean I gravitate only towards the male actors cast in a drama. I just like folks whose acting connect with me whether it’s an actor or actress in question. The ladies in KMHM just … Continue reading →
Right now the MBC Mon-Tues Pride and Prejudice is my most stalwart drama offering and the steady, though not spectacular, leading ratings in the time slot confirms that the story keeps the existing viewers coming back. The chemistry between leads Choi Jin Hyuk and Baek Jin Hee isn’t as electric as it started off but I’m more into them for … Continue reading →
It was Thanksgiving week in the US but just an ordinary last week of November everywhere else. It was a celebrity star-studded wedding week for a high profile entertainment couple that actually had their entire romance chronicled by the media and still made it to the altar. Congrats are in order for C-movie star Gao Yuan Yuan, a talented and … Continue reading →
It feels like there are so many jokes I can crack about Go Sung Hee getting cast opposite Jaejoong for the new KBS Friday night drama Spy. First there’s the YunJae snerking that naturally stem from her starring with Jaejoong after acting opposite Yunho in Records of a Night Watchman. If DBSK didn’t split apart then there would definitely be … Continue reading →
Dang it, the upcoming C-movie version of Miss Granny is doing a bang up job of challenging the age old adage that remakes inevitably suck in comparison to the original. The movie got a lot more buzz when it was first announced over the casting of Luhan (formerly of EXO) in a supporting role, which goes to show the lack … Continue reading →
We Got Married feels like its been around forever but every so often the old faithful show gets some much needed buzz with the lucky break of casting an extraordinarily compatible onscreen couple. It’s still all acting but gosh darn it whatever is going on just feels natural so the audience can’t get enough of it. Such is the case … Continue reading →
It’s been over a week, a very long radio silent week, waiting for confirmation from MBC about whether Lee Seung Gi is the male lead in Kill Me Heal Me, along with who his leading lady would be. The prolonged wait made me think that a really big name female costar was in the works, someone with comparable name recognition … Continue reading →
