It’s a testament to just how bad some K-dramas have wrapped up that I’m actually heaving a sigh of relief that My Secret Hotel‘s final episode wasn’t a total piece of crap. At least leading lady Sang Hyo definitely made a choice, all the obstacles and misunderstandings were overcome, and there was even a hug and kiss to tie the … Continue reading →
L (or Kim Myung Soo) probably can look far and wide and not find a better drama and/or role to change his image of being a complete and utter suck as an actor. Now he can at least hold his head high for having enough onscreen charisma to overcome the technique deficits. I was already enamored of his blond hair look in … Continue reading →
I’ll confess Han Ji Min‘s name was not high on my personal list for Hyun Bin‘s leading lady in the upcoming high profile SBS drama Hyde, Jekyll, and I, but at the end of the day if she’s cast then I’m cool with it. The morning in Korea is starting off with hot headline news on A-list actress Han Ji Min … Continue reading →
Watching the just released second teaser for Pride and Prejudice, there’s actually a whiff of the Hero vibe from the J-dorama starring Kimura Takuya about an oddball but brilliant prosecutor working with equally odd prosecutorial colleagues. That’s not a bad thing since Hero (and its sequel) is a smash hit in Japan proving there is always audience appetite for quirky … Continue reading →
This might be the beginning of the end but I for one am thrilled to bring the news that the first Super Junior member to get married for realz will be Sungmin! Member Lee Sung Min, recently sporting a very unfortunate hair-over-eyes look for the “Mamacita” promotions, has confirmed the recent rumors that he will be tying the knot with … Continue reading →
Episode 15 of My Secret Hotel pushed me over the edge. I simply don’t give a flying fug about this drama or any of the characters anymore. The romance, the mystery, the mood, all of that has died a slow death under the sheer inability of the screenwriter to actually tell a story. Set up an interesting premise, string along … Continue reading →
After 17-episodes my heart is won and the Dal Bong-Seo Wool ship in What’s With the Family is one of my favorite drama pairings of the year. They are so age-appropriately darling it makes my heart hurt when either or both so much as sniffle. Park Hyung Sik is 22 year old while Nam Ji Hyun is 19 years old, … Continue reading →
Filming has started for the upcoming Friday night SETTV drama Aim High (22K梦想高飞 22K Dreams Fly High) which will take over the time slot on October 24th from Pleasantly Surprised (Love Myself or You) which ends in two episodes. Starring Lego Lee, Chris Wang, Summer Meng, and Guo Shu Yao, the drama is about the struggles and successes of young … Continue reading →
All the training from Bom-yi’s childhood should have kicked in after Bom-yi kicked Dong-ha and she found out his identity. Dong-ha suddenly rose on the see-saw of Confucian society where age and rank outweigh everything else. Kang Dong-ha is not only a man, but her friend’s older brother, the CEO of a successful company, and eventually her employer. If she … Continue reading →
At this point I’m girding myself for one bombshell news a week from K-ent from here on out until 2014 finally ends. I suppose SM Entertainment can breathe a sigh of relief that this news nugget doesn’t involve the agency. Idol-actor Lee Joon is stripping the idol from his career effective immediately as he’s officially left the K-pop group MBLAQ. … Continue reading →
Unexpectedly chancing upon a drama that captures my entire attention leading me to marathon all available episodes in one night is like running a marathon, it’s painful but oh so satisfying afterwards. The currently airing KBS weekend drama What’s With This Family (What Happens to My Family) is my current crack thanks to one story arc with the younger leads Park … Continue reading →
Four out of seven is a majority so it’s only fitting I write about certain members of the K-pop boyband Infinite now that four are currently gracing the airwaves and doing so in a rather enjoyable manner for me. L and Hoya are starring in the SBS primetime Wed-Thurs drama My Lovely Girl while Woohyun and Sungyeol are over on … Continue reading →
The more I see of the upcoming TVBS drama Boysitter (摩女搶頭婚 translated literally as Modern Woman Snatches First Wedding) the more excited I’m getting. I’m not elevating my expectations too much but the mere thought of a fresh new cast starts things off on the right foot for me. Starring Annie Chen, River Huang, Melvin Sia, and Nita Lei, the … Continue reading →
