The gumihos are going back in time as the second season of tvN fantasy drama Tale of Gumiho takes the two gumiho brother male leads to 1938 and follows their adventures. Tale of Gumiho 1938 (Tale of the Nine-taled) follows Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum’s characters as they time travel prior to the first drama to the 1930’s period and the new female lead is Kim So Yeon playing also a mountain spirit like the brothers. I love the first teaser poster, so atmospheric and cool. But then again, I loved the promos for the first drama lol and look how that turned out.

This isn’t a sequel and now it’s not even a true prequel to tvN 2021 fantasy drama Tale of Gumiho (Tale of the Nine-tailed). It’s called Tale of Gumiho:1938 and from the date everyone thought it would deal with the … Continue reading
I feel like this second season or prequel to tvN drama Tale of Gumiho seems rather superfluous in that it doesn’t address what the diehard fans want in terms of continuation and/or closure. tvN has announced that it will be … Continue reading
Hhhmmm, this drama offer seems totally not worthy of her but if she accepts she can only make the drama better. K-actress Kim So Yeon has been tapped as the female lead of the second second of tvN fantasy horror … Continue reading
Well this is random and I wonder who is the target audience? tvN will be airing a second season of fall 2020’s fantasy romance drama Tale of Gumiho (Tale of the Nine-tailed) which thoroughly confounded me when it aired. There … Continue reading
Man, the last four episodes of tvN Wed-Thurs drama Tale of Gumiho (Tale of the Nine-tailed) has been as bad as the first two episodes were great. The drama started going downhill after episode 6 when it was clear the … Continue reading
Production quality hasn’t been a problem with Tale of Gumiho, it’s a little cheesy and simplistic with the special efforts but it compensated by nice horror beats. The problem is the story hinges on people NOT talking, keeping important background … Continue reading
Man, Tale of Gumiho is starting to piss me off. So much potential, a great cast, and the plot developments are wildly frustrating. Imoogi (who I shall call Bowl-cut Baddie from now on) is wasting Lee Tae Ri because I … Continue reading
I find Tale of Gumiho still entertaining enough to keep watch but I wish whether from a different casting or a different twist to the story that I cared about the OTP romance because so much danger is tied to … Continue reading
I feel like Tale of Gumiho tries so hard with the fated love/OTP element but it’s actually everything else that works and that central thread just falls for flat. The lack of chemistry between Yeon and Ji Ah continues so … Continue reading
The inexplicable and bizarre lack of romantic chemistry between the leads in Tale of Gumiho is really dragging down the energy of the drama, but conversely it makes the other parts work harder to keep this thing afloat. Episode 8 … Continue reading
The ratings have been dropping for four consecutive episodes of Tale of Gumiho (Tale of the Nine-tailed) and that’s not a good sign since it’s only episode 7. But I totally understand why and while I will probably watch this … Continue reading
Watching Tale of Gumiho really helps that I have such a long drama watching history to compare to, and it’s the comparison that highlights the strengths and weaknesses of this fantasy K-drama. Episode 6 ratings dropped below 5% for the … Continue reading
