Man, I have never seen a publicly more put upon husband than C-star Jia Nai Liang. His marriage is on the rocks again this weekend with the release of two videos showing his wife C-actress Li Xiao Lu with his former good friend rapper PG ONE, the two having been linked nearly two years ago in a cheating scandal complete … Continue reading →
It’s never too long when it comes to something perfect. So a perfect pairing feels just as magical seeing it nearly 5 years later, by that I mean C-stars Hu Ge and Liu Tao together again. They starred in the critically acclaimed hit C-drama Nirvana in Fire, still the most perfect drama I’ve ever watched from every angle directing, writing, … Continue reading →
This is one case where real life is as makjang and melodramatic as fiction on dramas. TW-ent is all about the crazy, wild love triangle now legal drama involving two stars and one spurned wife. Actor Mars Ma (Ma Jun Lin) and actress Hitomi Wang (Wang Tong) starred as onscreen lovers in hit Taiwanese drama Great Times which ended its … Continue reading →
I’ve got one final batch of drama stills to share, courtesy of GTV for wrapping up its TW-drama Before We Get Married (We Can Not Be Friends) with more goodies to slowly ease fans off the withdrawal now that we don’t have new episodes to look forward to every Friday. I thought another episode could be merited but then the … Continue reading →
Streaming behemoth Netflix hasn’t just gotten into K-dramas, it’s doing a concerted effort with TW-dramas as well and this winter season there will be three exciting offerings available to subscribers. Nowhere Man stars Joseph Chang as a death row inmate who finds out his son has been kidnapped so attempts to escape the prison and finds himself caught up in … Continue reading →
It’s been a short and long 13-weeks watching live to TW-drama Before We Get Married (We Cannot Be Friends) which ended this Friday just as my summer is coming to a close. I want to thank this fantastic drama and leads Jasper Liu and Puff Guo for bringing me back to crack TW-drama land and also elevating everything I’ve liked … Continue reading →
Taiwan dramas prioritize satisfaction over surprises the way K-dramas love to end episodes on cliffhangers and sometimes focuses on that at the expense of smoother storytelling. TW-drama Before We Get Married got me back on the motherland train after three years of not seeing any TW-dramas of interest to me. This one reunited Puff Guo and Jasper Liu and upgraded … Continue reading →
There’s another Chinese remake of a Taiwan drama finished filming and it’s one I’m cool with updating as the original really feels so dated. C-ent is remaking Prince Turns into Frog, that cracky silly romance that vaulted Ming Dao and Chen Qiao En into stardom though both have since fallen back to earth in recent years. The new version will … Continue reading →
If the leads of Before We Get Married don’t get together soon imma not going to throw a table, I’ll just switch all my attention to best friend Ke Fei and best little sister Zi Ting. I can handle the conflicting emotions of Wei Wei and no I don’t want her to end an engagement and toss her boyfriend of … Continue reading →
Sorry for skipping out last week on my commentary for currently airing Friday night TW-drama Before We Get Married. It’s my crackiest of crack dramas going on right now but the last two episodes were slower and denser than usual so I’m glad my busy life delay led to reviewing it together because it feels like a 1-2 punch. Ke … Continue reading →
I don’t think TW-drama Before We Get Married is making any statement about cheating being wrong or okay in certain cases. It’s purely about letting two beautiful people wildly attracted to each other try to keep apart and failing miserably, because there isn’t the right reasons to stay with their current partners. Ke Huan’s girlfriend manages to out-cray cray herself … Continue reading →
There’s a mixed reaction to TW-drama Before We Get Married with the domestic audience, it’s a cult hit with all valid criticisms. Leading lady Puff Guo‘s acting remains at the level from when she last worked with male lead Jasper Liu (Liu Yi Hao) while he’s improved leaps and bounds and it shows, but to an addicted viewers that doesn’t … Continue reading →
It’s the second week of TW-drama Before We Get Married and boy am I conflicted. On one hand I am addicted beyond belief but on the other neither lead is a “good” character that makes me sympathetic to their complicated emotions. All I care about is seeing leads Puff Guo and Jasper Liu give in to their wild sexual chemistry … Continue reading →
