I’ve been ignoring soon to end SETTV drama Love Cuisine because it pains me so, the drama is absymally dull and the second drama in a row to waste my beloved Lego Lee. Thank god it’s ending soon, and up next is a drama that seems promising by virtue of having no big name cast members and a fresher idea. … Continue reading →
When a story is about fantasy realms with gods and reincarnation, it doesn’t hurt to cast as close as can be to the visual description in the novel. That’s the case with the upcoming highly anticipated by fans adaptation of the period fantasy novel Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms by writer Tang Qi Gong Zi. Starring reknowned … Continue reading →
How can one picture drive me insane with want? I need to have a talk with someone over at the production of TW-drama Marry Me or Not and get the insider scoop on the secret sauce. Whatever magic they are wielding, it’s electric and addictive, with each new episode raising the bar ever higher. This is an amazing drama, whether … Continue reading →
Marry Me or Not continues to be marvelous, even at the pace of turning serious and even a little bit makjang. That’s not a bad thing, makjang gets associated with negative connotations but the original intent is merely to drop some dramatic associations to heighten the tension, but has since been hijacked to ever greater heights of absurd in K-dramas. … Continue reading →
I’m not holding my breath that this casting triumvirate will work out, but the one outlier piques my interest the most because the other two are so been there done that. Filming has started on period C-drama The Princess Weiyoung (锦绣未央 Jin Xiu Wei Young) based on the C-novel The Bastard Daughter is Poisonous (庶女有毒). The novel is not for … Continue reading →
Wahhhh, things are getting intense fast in Marry Me or Not on all fronts. I wished the drama would reveal what really went down in college between Huan Huan and that asswipe Jiang Qian Yao, because right now I don’t have a good about him other than if he gets between Huan Huan and Justin then he’ll get a good … Continue reading →
ba I feel like lately TW-dramas have hit a nice top of the bell curve in watchability, with a steady stream of shows that range from nicely done to spectacularly awesome. I’m watching two in Taste of Love and Marry Me or Not, an will soon add a third in Be With Me (Chinese title Dance Dance Together). Starring Queen … Continue reading →
China’s propensity to doubly milk a potential hit continues with news coming out of a recent awards show that a highly anticipated adaption will be going for the usual two-fer treatment. Popular C-novel One Smile is Very Alluring (Wei Wei Yi Xiao Hen Qing Cheng) just wrapped filming on the C-drama adaptation starring Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang, with the … Continue reading →
How can Marry Me or Not continue to meld laughter and sizzle in such synchronicity I will never understand, not because it’s impossible but because it’s ever so rare nowadays in dramas. I love when storytelling convincingly showcases layers just like in real life, and in the upcoming episode 7 of Marry Me or Not, the pretend romance attempts to … Continue reading →
God I love this drama so much, so *bleeping* much. The pace is slowing down in Marry Me or Not, but the narrative is deepening because of it as the characters try to figure out what they are really feeling about each other. Episode 6 was yet another phenomenal outing, funny and tense and romantic all wrapped into one. I’m … Continue reading →
The director of Marry Me or Not gets my unending thanks on a twofold level, one for filming this drama so beautifully it takes my breath away, and second for pushing his leads on the acting level to keep upping their performance and get out of their comfort zone. All of that shows up onscreen as perfection for the viewers, … Continue reading →
There are so many completed filming C-dramasthat aired his year in 2015. A bunch were front loaded into January and February around the lunar new year holiday vacation season but the one I’m looking forward to the most was tentatively scheduled to start the summer season off with a June airing, too bad that didn’t happen. The drama is called … Continue reading →
I’m having a hard time succinctly verbalizing what I love so much about TW-drama Marry Me or Not. Even if it didn’t star my beloved Roy Qiu and Alice Ke reunion coupling, the narrative storytelling is top notch on its own. What Roy and Alice bring is incomparable sizzle and delicate nuance, so one moment I think the screen is … Continue reading →
