When you have done everything and won everything then it seems natural to branch out even to something that never seemed worth his time. Award winning K-actor Song Kang Ho has been critically acclaimed in Korea for his 32-year long career and in recent years thanks to Parasite now also critically acclaimed globally. He’s not content to just stick with … Continue reading →
Streaming platform Coupang Play has been in the news these past two weeks for all the wrong reasons, namely unilaterally editing the K-drama Anna over the PD’s protest and shaving two episodes off the length. With that said, there are other Coupang Play dramas in the pipeline and one of them is the police procedural Chronicles of Crime. Jang Geun … Continue reading →
My initial interest in this drama is from the casting of the three female leads but reading more about it ahead of this weekend’s premiere made me realize there is way more critically acclaimed reasons to check out tvN drama Little Women. Aside from the title borrowed from the classic novel and the story also has sisters, nothing else is … Continue reading →
This sounds like an interesting story and interesting dual female lead led casting. Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee are in talks to star in an upcoming drama titled The Price of Confession. It’s billed as a suspense thriller where two women get involved around a murder case. Song Hye Kyo is an art teacher with small dreams of … Continue reading →
I’m not sure what the instructions were for filming these character posters but it’s like every person involved were doing disparate things that was later stitched together badly. tvN Wed-Thurs drama Love in Contract with Park Min Young as a contract girlfriend/bride/wife and Go Kyung Pyo and Kim Jae Young as two of her clients released new posters and teasers … Continue reading →
tvN Sat-Sun drama Alchemy of Souls season 1 ended with 9.218% ratings in the final episode 20 and that’s 9.218% more ratings than it deserved. K-drama Discovery of Romance with Eric, Jung Yumi, and Sung Joon is a classic, I haven’t rewatched it but from what I remember of the writing, directing, and acting chemistry it would probably stand the test of time even now. That’s why having a C-drama remake just feels like an uphill climb with a why bother thrown in, but it’s … Continue reading →

The more you love something the more you grow angry when it disappointments you, and Alchemy of Souls is not the first K-drama to render me this frustrated and also won’t be the last. Once I’m finished with one crack drama then I’m finished with one crack drama I go on a mad search for another similar one to follow, but it has to appeal to me from leads to visual to story. Gosh, hearing this confirmed news still gives me a visceral reaction and it’s not a positive one. But then again, the Hong Sisters could have their grand plan mapped out from the beginning for Alchemy of Souls, what with the soul swapping and the multiple seasons. On the cusp of the finale of the drama billed as season 1 with … Continue reading →
