This reverse Dr. Jin snuck up on me but the surprise factor totally worked with this one because I’m unexpectedly intrigued with it’s lighthearted teasers when the concept seemed more dramatic and serious. Live Up to Your Name (Deserving of the Name) with Kim Nam Gil and Kim Ah Joong premieres on August 12th on Sat-Sun after Forest of Secrets, … Continue reading →
Filming has commenced for MBC medical drama Hospital Ship, diving into the genre that recently got high ratings for SBS with both Doctors and Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim. Filming kicked off at the port city of Goeje with the Deputy Mayor of the city present for the prayer ceremony along with the cast and crew. Starring Ha Ji Won, Kang … Continue reading →
Whether KBS produces an actual good drama with Manhole (Wonderland’s Feels or Feels So Good), it’s produces the most unintentional sniggers in recent memory with the English title alone and that’s a whole lotta good fun to be had. Now we get the first look at said manhole, a time-traveling one at that, and the man who will be time-traveling … Continue reading →
Summer is more than halfway done and soon the kids will be back to school and the final batch of 2017 K-dramas scheduled and cast. I’m still waiting patiently for K-actress Yoon Eun Hye‘s promised 2017 K-ent return, and if she ends up picking a movie then it’ll be at least 2018 until it hits the big screen. I still … Continue reading →
This is awful and such an invasion of privacy in every way, I feel terrible for Taiwanese singer-actress Cyndi Wang who just launched her 2017 World Tour for her latest album and is now dealing with a scandal. This week a Facebook user posted a picture of Cyndi in an intimate and private moment, she’s in her undergarments and resting … Continue reading →
Ladies ruled the red carpet, with a surprising easy on the eyes green movie poster background, at the VIP premiere of K-movie A Taxi Driver. This movie pairs veteran Song Kang Ho with German actor Thomas Kretschmann for a real life depiction of a taxi driver assisting a German reporter in covering the Gwangju uprising of 1980. The star attendees at … Continue reading →
I love happy couple pictures but appreciate it more when after marriage it transitions to normal happy family pictures complete with kid(s). C-actor Chen Xiao and TW-actress Michelle Chen married last summer 2016 after meeting and falling in love as the leads in the latest drama adaptation of Return of the Condor Heroes. The two welcomed their first born baby … Continue reading →
If upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs drama Manhole (Wonderland’s Feels or Feels So Good) is intentionally trying to be weird and subversive then it’s doing a smashing job because I have no idea what to expect. The first teaser with the leading four cast members of Jaejoong, UEE, Baro, and Jung Hye Sung dancing to PPAP with their own even more herky … Continue reading →
Being one week late to the new drama premiere party hasn’t hurt new Mon-Tues SBS drama Falsify, and in fact may have helped as the other two new K-dramas that premiered last week on the rival networks both landed with a thud. Today’s premiere of Falsify took in 11.6% for episode 1 and rising in episode 2 to 12.6%. Over … Continue reading →
Success must be a glorious and beautifying elixir because C-actress Yang Mi has been on fire level gorgeous since starting the year off on a mega high note with the drama adaptation of Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms (Eternal Love). I don’t think I’ve seen her styled as beautifully in any period C-drama as she was arrayed … Continue reading →
I feel idol-actress Suzy deserves a kudos for her airport outfit last week as she jetted off to Italy to shoot an upcoming fashion pictorial. It’s definitely fashion goals no matter what venue she’s at, and for the usual media scrutiny of K-stars at the airport she definitely hits it out of the park. From the flawless but not caked … Continue reading →
While K-drama ratings have been down in the past five years consistently year after year, with 2012 in my mind as the last year ratings could get above 20% for more than just one or two prime time dramas a year, C-dramas haven’t yet reached its peak or decline, and in fact is still on the upward trajectory for its … Continue reading →
A typical drama casting offer turn down doesn’t usually merit a solo post but the combination big name star and big name screenwriter makes many K-drama fans eager to know the locked down casting. The Hong Sisters upcoming fantasy drama Hwayugi, a riff on one of the Chinese classics Journey to the West (Xi You Ji) has been courting Park … Continue reading →
