There’s a change of plans over at KBS and it’s not clear the reason behind it. The network has announced that summer melodrama Uncontrollably Fond with Kim Woo Bin and Suzy airing on Wed-Thurs in July will now be followed by young adult romance sageuk Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. It was originally supposed to be followed by flower boy sageuk … Continue reading →
I’m a dog person but it’s not for a lack of love for cats, I just don’t feel quite prepared to raise one of those complicated furry felines. For kicks I do watch cat videos and cackle over how much smarter cats are than my dog with tofu for brains. As the general populace is split between dog and cat … Continue reading →
I feel greedy this week thanks to the news that Gong Yoo was making a drama land return in a Kim Eun Sook drama. Hyun Bin has already done a Kim Eun Sook drama in Secret Garden which propelled him to new heights of popularity, all he has to do is pick a future project that returns him to the … Continue reading →
Of all the excessive milking of the cash cow that is Descendants of the Sun, no extension but adding pointless special episodes, it was inevitable that talk would emerge of a second season and/or a sequel. Both writers have previously expressed their finality with this drama, Kim Eun Sook said it was too difficult to plan a part 2 and … Continue reading →
Park Hae Jin just landed a new first in China for a Korean entertainer, and it’s all the more impressive considering just how popular over there some of his fellow Korean stars are. China’s Ministry of Communications and China Post is releasing a new series commemorating the 100 most influential modern cultural figures in China, and the first and only … Continue reading →
Cable network tvN is gearing up for the premiere of Oh Hae Young Again (Another Miss Oh) on May 2nd which means I’m gearing up for the return of Eric. I don’t care if he does low-rated dramas as long as it’s a great role and with fantastic chemistry much like in Discovery of Romance where he got a perfect … Continue reading →
Fantasy tinged sageuk drama Mirror of the Witch (Witch Exemplar) is certainly setting the right visual tone with the first set of character posters. The layout isn’t innovative but the color tones and expressiveness of each actor brings the mood to life, making me anticipate a melancholy and otherworldy feel for the drama. Kim Sae Ron shines as the titular … Continue reading →
Acting chemistry aside, Suzy does look good with any leading man by her side. Here she is sharing the latest selfie from the set of upcoming KBS drama Uncontrollably Fond, and whether it’s with leading man Kim Woo Bin or second leading man Im Joo Hwan there’s no worry about any visual mismatch. The drama wrapped filming a week ago … Continue reading →
Lee Min Ho‘s Q score remains sky high in China despite not having a hit project since Heirs two years ago. That will likely change this summer when his Chinese-Korean collaboration movie Bounty Hunters airs. His costars are uber popular Wallace Chung and Tang Yan, plus the addition of pretty young faces like Karena Ng and Jeremy Jones, the movie … Continue reading →
What wonderful news to share, and now with picture proof to boot! Long time K-ent married couple Yeon Jung Hoon and Han Ga In are the proud parents to their first child born on April 13th last week. The Korean acting couple have been married for 11 years, since 2005, and went though a very painful public miscarriage two years … Continue reading →
I thought the Descendants of the Sun ratings gravy train was over for KBS but apparently not. The production team and network wisely elected not to extend DotS, not that it was realistically even possible anyways since it was fully pre-produced, but still that was a major relief for those watching along. That meant DotS aired it’s final episode 16 last … Continue reading →
There’s news from the You From Another Star front unrelated to how Descendants of the Sun recently broke many of YFAS’s ratings records. It’s been two years since the monumentally popular drama and since then there have been murmurs of sequels, spin-offs, and remakes, none of which have happened. Last year the news cycle lit up with reports that the … Continue reading →
SBS premieres new Wed-Thurs drama Entertainer (Ttanttara, a derogatory Korean slang for the title), so get used to hearing it used often in the drama and also get used for a new competitive playing field. With KBS finished with its Descendants of the Sun domination the field is now open again to see if newcomer Entertainer and Master: God of … Continue reading →
