Now that Answer Me 1988 has ended, I can finally marathon this baby and not get sucked into the usual shipping wars. I’ve participated in my fair share and honestly it’s exhausting, but hard to avoid when live watching a drama that’s popular and garners heavy audience involvement. One thing that everyone watching the drama seems to agree on is … Continue reading →
I suggest viewers of Marry Me or Not have a fan handy for this Sunday’s episode 12, because the latest video preview gives a glimpse into upcoming OTP sexy times that had me fanning myself on mere seconds of footage alone. Leads Alice Ke and Roy Qiu said in recent interviews that it was the most intense and revealing onscreen … Continue reading →
It’s still hard to fully believe that Descendants of the Sun is right around the corner, premiering in mid-February on KBS Wed-Thurs, taking over from The Merchant: Gaekju 2015. I’m still super excited even if the first teasers weren’t what I expected, at least nothing looked terrible or awkward right off the bat. Song Joong Ki remains the number one reason for my … Continue reading →
A good story makes the most out of its fictional conundrums, weaving intricate webs of conflict that leads to a cathartic payoff. The beauty and tragedy in Lost You Forever is that the conflict happens around characters that I love, and if I were to splice the three male leads together into one super character then that would be the … Continue reading →
While the doomsday clock has started ticking on the late 86 and 87 Korean male stars slated to enlist for their mandatory military service, one silver lining that it’s already 2016 comes in the form of the impending military discharge of Yoon Si Yoon on January 27th. I can’t believe my baby boy has been in the military for almost two … Continue reading →
The choice is in the hands of Han Ye Seul‘s character, but I wonder which of these three good looking young men will the audiences fall for when jTBC drama Madame Antoine premieres next Friday. While Han Ye Seul is a fortune teller who doesn’t have any secret ability up her sleeve beyond a great eye for reading people, her … Continue reading →
This Sunday is going to be a rough go for me watching my beloved Marry Me or Not. There’s the spectre of the drama heading into the final few episodes of its run, always a melancholy thought to entertain when its a drama that has brought me so much satisfaction. But even more anxiety inducing are the previews that appear … Continue reading →
What a visually promising start to the 2016 drama year, what with both of the January dramas I’m looking forward to delivering on the promos, and making it easy to like them both since they air on different time slots. I’m talking about jTBC‘s Madame Antoine which airs on Fri-Sat, which went early with poster releases two weeks ago, and … Continue reading →
Filming has started on the C-movie adaptation of popular college age romance novel One Smile is Very Alluring (Wei Wei Yi Xiao Hen Qing Cheng). This is poised to be this year’s potential big like like You Are My Sunshine, and even earlier Shan Shan Come Eat. All three novels are by writer Gu Man, so linking them together makes … Continue reading →
The star weddings coming out of Taiwan and China these past few years have been heading in the more and more extravagant direction, and that may all be thanks to megastar Jay Chou‘s English castle wedding to Hannah Quinlivan starting the one upping trend. Hannah’s bridesmaids at her luxe wedding included industry bestie actress Beatrice Fang, who may need to … Continue reading →
I don’t follow any brands, whatever the product it’s selling, so on occasion when I post about CFs it’s in relation to the spokesperson selected for that particular campaign who happens to be a star I like quite a lot. With that said, following an industry like K-ent for so many years, some things linger in the periphery of the … Continue reading →
Yoon Eun Hye‘s foray into Chinese variety continues as she mulls over her next acting project. Doesn’t hurt to stay in the public limelight, and this particular show is a pretty neat concept. Produced by Hunan TV, the first season of Grade One Freshman follows a group of first year acting students enrolled at the prestigious Shanghai Theater Academy. The students … Continue reading →
These days any news around Bu Bu Jing Xin is all about the K-version adaptation, which isn’t remaking the C-drama but is adapting the original source C-novel in its own way. That’s good because the C-version had its own flair and wasn’t completely identical to the novel, and also because trying to copy a copy greatly increases the odds of … Continue reading →
