The end of the year is here and that means the January K-dramas are just around the corner. jTBC‘s upcoming romance drama Madame Antoine doesn’t premiere until towards the end of January on the 22nd, but the drama has been doing a swell job of releasing posters and pictures, and this week dropped the first teaser preview. Starring Han Ye … Continue reading →
I know Christmas is passed but hopefully everyone has been good and in the mood for extra pretty presents. The cast of upcoming sageuk movie The Joseon Magician is pulling out all stops to promote the movie ahead of its December 30th premiere. And by pulling out all stops, I mean parading leads Yoo Seung Ho and Go Ara around … Continue reading →
I’m so relieved and optimistic about Rain‘s upcoming drama, despite the a bit of casting go-around and plenty of drama name changes. The drama is now called Please Come Back, Ahjussi, after starting off with Goodbye My Beloved One and recently trying out Hello My Precious. The full cast has now been fully confirmed, with Rain headlining along with Oh … Continue reading →
It’s about time there was some concrete drama casting news with Park Shin Hye, and even if this is just discussion level it’s still something for me to look forward to. I saw a great step forward with her acting in her last drama Pinocchio, both the maturity and a convincing romantic chemistry with costar Lee Jong Seok, which is … Continue reading →
It’s a testament to to top Korean actress Jeon Ji Hyun‘s star appeal and selling power that many of her major endorsement deals continue to churn out new CF ads with her despite her pregnancy. Not that I have a problem with pregnant women, stars or not, being in CFs, but with Jeon Ji Hyun the ads have cleverly worked … Continue reading →
I know one present I’d be thrilled to get for Christmas – Park Hyung Sik in a wrapped box please! The charming and charismatic idol-actor is on the cover and pages of Sure Magazine in an early start to welcome the upcoming holiday season. I still marvel over how he was utterly forgettable in Heirs, probably due to Kim Woo … Continue reading →
How can one picture drive me insane with want? I need to have a talk with someone over at the production of TW-drama Marry Me or Not and get the insider scoop on the secret sauce. Whatever magic they are wielding, it’s electric and addictive, with each new episode raising the bar ever higher. This is an amazing drama, whether … Continue reading →
Is this a Christmas present from KBS? If so thank you KBS Santa! I will not look a gift horse in the mouth, especially when it comes to my most anticipated K-drama of 2016. The first teaser preview is out for high profile Kim Eun Sook written drama Descendants of the Sun. Starring Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki, the … Continue reading →
It’s so cute when celebrities recognize their own lookalikes, it saves fans the trouble of doing double takes. Last week Sistar‘s Bora ran into K-actress Han Chae Young at an event and the two took a selfie asking their fans if they could pass as sisters. The answer is “totally”, and their not the only Korean entertains to have lookalikes … Continue reading →
The preview is out for upcoming OCN drama Neighborhood Hero, the comeback drama for PD Kwak Jung Hwan after his epic fail that was Basketball, and also the comeback drama for K-actor Park Shi Hoo after his accused rape scandal nearly two years ago. I’m not quite ready to welcome Park Shi Hoo’s onscreen return but it’s happening no matter … Continue reading →
Looks like Jang Geun Seok has taken the first steps in his return to Korean entertainment, and even if the project doesn’t interest me I’ll still be keeping an eye on the reception for this foray. Jang Geun Seok will be participating in the CJ E&M music show Produce 101, mentoring 101 YG girl trainees during a grueling competition to … Continue reading →
I don’t watch long running K-variety show We Got Married, but like a casting for a drama I always take note of which entertainers are paired up together. One of the odder couplings for the show has been current noona-dongsaeng acting couple of Kim So Yeon and Kwak Si Yang. She’s 35 and he’s 28 so the 7 year age … Continue reading →
My affection for any of my fave actors or actresses don’t blind me to any shortcomings with acting or script in any drama or movie. I can still enjoy it with caveats, and that’s the case with Yoo Seung Ho‘s first prime time drama return after military service. Remember (Son’s War). He’s been pretty underwhelming, the acting is there but not the … Continue reading →
