The Seoul International Drama Awards just went down and I’ll write about it when I have more time to scoop up all the pictures of the many pretties who attended. This post is solely about Ariel Lin‘s visit to Korea this week to attend the Seoul Drama Awards, and along with it her adorable fangirly moments prior to the awards … Continue reading →
I’m already feeling bad for Hwang Jung Eum and the drama She Was Pretty hasn’t even aired yet. I know her (relatively) uglified look is solely for this particular character, but does she have to be so hapless and always staring up at men? In two new sets of drama stills, both featuring Hwang Jung Eum front and center, she’s … Continue reading →
On the even of the Seoul Drama Awards, another Korean awards show has released its nominees list for 2015 dramas and the result is a decidedly mixed bag. While I agree with the nominations for Heard it Through the Grapevine and the male leads, the inclusion of Yongpal in various categories boggles the mind since it’s only halfway through airing … Continue reading →
SBS continues with its trend of running concept promos for dramas and the first one is out for upcoming Wed-Thurs mystery thriller The Village: Achiara’s Secret. I’ll probably be calling it just The Village since it sounds way creepier without the Achiara’s Secret, which by the way achiara is supposedly an old Korean description for a lotus pond. The concept … Continue reading →
SBS promised me Six Flying Dragons, but from the completed set of drama stills of all the leading men I only count five. Which leads me to assume Shin Se Kyung‘s female lead is the sole lady of the bunch and the final dragon, which is cool by me. After swooning over sexy in black Yoo Ah In as Lee … Continue reading →
The Seoul International Drama Awards enters its 10th year today, a milestone definitely but not yet long enough for this particular award to vault into legit cred territory. It’s not the worst one out there, and with this year’s attendee list the SDA is gunning for broader appeal by shipping in popular stars. The biggest two has to be Lee … Continue reading →
Ha Ji Won isn’t letting a flopped drama slow her down, and why should she when the flop of The Time I Loved You (K-remake of In Time With You) was all the fault of the terrible script and excessive PPL rather than her performance or chemistry with costar Lee Jin Wook. She’s just started filming the Korean-Chinese joint production movie … Continue reading →
The brightly colored character posters for She Was Pretty confirm one thing off the bat, that leading lady Hwang Jung Eum‘s post-makeover look in the drama is basically Oh Ji Rin from Kill Me Heal Me wandered over to the SWP set. I don’t mind since I adored her Oh Ri Jin, not to mention that look was one of … Continue reading →
A premiere date has been set for upcoming work place romance C-movie Go Lala Go 2, the sequel to the hit movie about a white collar office girl’s search for professional success and personal commitment. Starring Ariel Lin, Vic Zhou, Bolin Chen, and Nana, the movie will hit the theaters on November 11 which is Singles Days in the country. … Continue reading →
SBS just released script reading pictures for upcoming Wed-Thur drama The Village, which might not have such a high ratings buffer when it premieres in October what with currently airing Yongpal‘s noticeable drop in quality and ratings. It’s been low ratings across the board with most prime time dramas these last two years so The Village shouldn’t be expecting to ride Yongpal’s … Continue reading →
It’s no exaggeration to say that C-actress Tang Yan is basically over-exposed at this point. And it’s not just the international drama audiences thinking that, C-netizens have also gotten fed up with her being in every other drama or movie, and always playing the same “dense, pale, sweet” (傻白甜) character. The slang “dense, pale, sweet” for a drama female lead … Continue reading →
The J-dorama gods have answered my prayers – Fuji TV‘s next Getsu 9 (Monday @ 9) dorama is not only a romance, it’s going to star two of my faves as the OTP! Hallelujah for the rousing production news to juice me up for the fall 2015 dorama season. Fuji TV’s current Getsu 9 Koinaka is by and large a … Continue reading →
Ji Chang Wook is one of those K-actors I’ve recently grown to like. He was a delight in Healer, dropping a performance perfect for a stellar role. But his recent popularity in Asian as a newer Hallyu star is not credited to Healer and is all thanks instead to Empress Ki. That’s one performance and character which almost turned me … Continue reading →
