The first big-budget prime time drama of 2015 has wrapped up its run in MBC‘s Kill Me Heal Me, ending on a heartwarming note that was equal parts hopeful and sincere if one doesn’t read too much into all the details. That basically sums up this drama – looks great from a viewing distance, probably a mess up close if … Continue reading →
With MBC starting off promotions for upcoming 50-episode sageuk Splendid Politics (Hwajung) with official filming stills of Cha Seung Won as Gwanghaegun (Prince Gwanghae), it’s pretty clear that his anti-hero leading man will be the lynch pin of this series. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with Cha Seung Won’s leading man charisma and experience, not to mention … Continue reading →
Count me in for the likely minority that is looking forward to Let’s Eat 2, the sequel to the same name cult popular tvN drama last year, solely because it got a cast change. More specifically, I’m looking forward to LE2 for the same reason I skipped the original LE, once the leading lady was switched from the thoroughly uninteresting … Continue reading →
KBS is doing more Friday dramas, a time slot that tvN has had mixed success with from drama to drama. With Heart to Heart ending last week, Super Daddy Yul arrives this Friday to ride that time slot well into the middle of spring. Will it be a breezy rom-com the whole way through as teasers and synopsis suggests, or … Continue reading →
Forget whether you think Hyde, Jekyll, Me is good or bad, and just raise your hand if you actually understand what the heck is going on now? Because I certainly no longer have a clue, this coming on top of barely making sense of it before. With Tae Joo out of the picture, one would think that the drama would … Continue reading →
Waking up to magical drama casting news definitely sets the mood for the entire day to “ecstatic”. It’s been four years since the last SETTV mega-hit drama, which was the unexpected success of Office Girls with Roy Qiu and Alice Ke. It was so popular it even beat In Time With You in ratings by a long shot. I loved … Continue reading →
Big star cameos in dramas and movies happen regularly, with the practice of either touting it beforehand or letting the audience be pleasantly surprised when watching the final cut. I’m fine with way, and in the case of finished filming sageuk movie Sado, the production has elected to reveal that leading man So Ji Sub will be doing a critical … Continue reading →
This sure is a nice mid-week casting jolt to get drama fans buzzing. With soon to be discharged from the military Song Joong Ki almost certainly confirmed as the leading man for Kim Eun Sook‘s upcoming disaster zone love story Descendants of the Sun, it’s about time the production revealed news of the potential leading lady. It had to be … Continue reading →
Another Wednesday, another crappy episode of Hyde, Jekyll, Me. What else is new? The narrative breakthroughs in this episode would actually have worked episodes ago, before Tae Joo went on his kidnapping spree and the unprecedented incompetence of the cops turned this story line into a near farce. Now I just yawn in between staring at Hyun Bin’s perfect cheekbones … Continue reading →
Upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Angry Mom continues to look uber cute. I’m so glad I got over my Kim Hee Sun aversion so that I can actually look forward to this drama because the mom goes back to high school to protect her daughter concept is right up my alley. She’s still not an actress I would consider good at … Continue reading →
Woo hoo, the impending arrival of The Girl Who Sees Smells means that Hyde, Jekyll, Me is shuffling off to the great pasture in the shitty drama pasture in the sky. Make sure that drama is locked in a vault so that future generations don’t stumble upon it. Never thought the day would come that I would be so excited … Continue reading →
Faced with the prospect that that there are six more episodes of Hyde, Jekyll, Me, as opposed to two more and this week would be finale week, at the the production gives me some visual candy to sweeten the suffering. The drama has been the toggling of talking and more talking with the occasional kidnapping and escape, however absurd it’s … Continue reading →
Oh my garsh, this is totally huge news in manhwa-to-drama adaptation dream projects. Well-known popular Korean girl’s comic Bride of the Water God by Yeon Mi Kyung is finally getting its long-awaited drama adaptation. The network isn’t confirmed yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up on tVN since the screenwriter will be Misaeng screenwriter Jung Yoon Jung. … Continue reading →
