Another Wednesday, another crappy episode of Hyde, Jekyll, Me. What else is new? The narrative breakthroughs in this episode would actually have worked episodes ago, before Tae Joo went on his kidnapping spree and the unprecedented incompetence of the cops turned this story line into a near farce. Now I just yawn in between staring at Hyun Bin’s perfect cheekbones … Continue reading →
Upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Angry Mom continues to look uber cute. I’m so glad I got over my Kim Hee Sun aversion so that I can actually look forward to this drama because the mom goes back to high school to protect her daughter concept is right up my alley. She’s still not an actress I would consider good at … Continue reading →
Woo hoo, the impending arrival of The Girl Who Sees Smells means that Hyde, Jekyll, Me is shuffling off to the great pasture in the shitty drama pasture in the sky. Make sure that drama is locked in a vault so that future generations don’t stumble upon it. Never thought the day would come that I would be so excited … Continue reading →
Faced with the prospect that that there are six more episodes of Hyde, Jekyll, Me, as opposed to two more and this week would be finale week, at the the production gives me some visual candy to sweeten the suffering. The drama has been the toggling of talking and more talking with the occasional kidnapping and escape, however absurd it’s … Continue reading →
Oh my garsh, this is totally huge news in manhwa-to-drama adaptation dream projects. Well-known popular Korean girl’s comic Bride of the Water God by Yeon Mi Kyung is finally getting its long-awaited drama adaptation. The network isn’t confirmed yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up on tVN since the screenwriter will be Misaeng screenwriter Jung Yoon Jung. … Continue reading →
This drama doesn’t look my thing based on the makjang synopsis but I do love the official posters to pieces! So eye-catching, almost like a portrait. A new MBC weekend drama is headed our way and it looks like a sure fire ratings winner since it has all the family angst, betrayal, and potential forgiveness ripe to conquer the weekend … Continue reading →
I thought the three long haired ladies would remain 1-2-3 for the foreseeable future but already one very well-loved variety superstar has wedged himself between them to start of 2015. The rankings are out for the month of January 2015 for the Korea domestic CF power list, providing a snapshot of the start of the year that looks mighty like … Continue reading →
With the sprawling young cast of Heirs, there is bound to be reunions at some point down the road in either a drama or movie. Some reunions would be right up my alley, like Kim Woo Bin and Park Shin Hye doing a drama together one day that would finally let the only pairing that worked for me in Heirs … Continue reading →
This is terrible news both for Ji Sung and for the production of Kill Me Heal Me, but there is one amusing angle that I’ll get into later after tackling the serious side first. With KMHM headed into the final week of its broadcast with two episodes remaining, the initially beleaguered production appeared to have overcome huge odds to become … Continue reading →
It’s going to be hard to top Producer as the biggest K-drama production and casting surprise of 2015 so far now that the final main cast member has confirmed. Kim Soo Hyun played coy for an extra week as to whether he was going to accept the Producer offer and in the end smartly said yes. If all the rumored … Continue reading →
Regardless of how the actual end product turns out, the promos for upcoming jTBC drama Falling for Innocence (Falling for Soon Jung) deserves accolades all its own. I like splitting my critique of drama promos versus what actually airs because the two aren’t necessarily aligned in quality and makes sense viewed separately. Promos are spliced together by conceptual and editing teams … Continue reading →
It’s a good time as any to try something new in drama land, and I’m even happier the confirmed cast for this experiment include some of my faves. Gong Hyo Jin and IU have just been officially confirmed for the eclectic cast of Producer. KBS is opening up a new time slot on Friday and Saturday nights for this drama, … Continue reading →
I don’t stalk Korean celeb airport pictures but occasionally post when there is something interesting to report. Yoon Eun Hye was snapped at the airport this weekend headed to Paris for a photo shoot, and since I love her then it’s clearly report-worthy, heh. She was clearly dressed to impress, but amazingly also looked dressed comfortably for the long flight. … Continue reading →
