The upcoming gangster noir period film Gangnam 1970 has basically turned into the Lee Min Ho show even if the movie has him co-headlining along with Kim Rae Won. If I were Kim Rae Won I wouldn’t let this bother much – he currently has the number one drama on the Mon-Tues time slot with Punch and has been garnering … Continue reading →
I’m lumping two upcoming drama castings into the same post since I’ve only gotten around to writing about it, plus my interest level towards both is the same level of mild curiosity. Let’s go with the confirmed casting one first – Lee Dong Gun and recent MBC Drama Daesang winner Lee Yoo Ri is pairing up for the next tvN drama … Continue reading →
I believe it’ll take a few episodes for Hyde, Jekyll, Me to really showcase what the whole point of the drama is about other than one dude with a split personality. Nothing about the premiere episode stands out other than Hyun Bin, but in my little world that’s more than enough to enjoy the little it offers up because it’s … Continue reading →
Highly anticipated (by me at least) Hyde, Jekyll, Me arrives today and finally ends my worry about similar themes and crowded competition and whatnot. I’m not going to look gift horses in the mouth so there won’t be any complaints from me about one too many Wed-Thurs K-dramas to follow. I love both Hyde, Jekyll, Me and Kill Me Heal … Continue reading →
Will Blood be able to draw out the feels from the viewers the way currently airing KBS drama Healer has been doing? Healer isn’t leaving big shoes for Blood to fill come mid-February because of high ratings since it’s just doing okay, but in terms of fan fervor and audience appeal then Blood definitely needs to sell the vampire doctor … Continue reading →
Wu Zun might not have acting chops but he has other great qualities that still serve him well as an entertainer. Since leaving Fahrenheit three years ago, Wu Zun has transitioned his career into movies and variety while revealing to the world the worst kept secret in TW-ent that he was long ago married to his high school sweetheart. By … Continue reading →
Today is the premiere of Hyde, Jekyll, Me and I’m succeeding so far in keeping my expectations in check. I’m not even hoping this drama blows me away as long as it keeps my interest and capitalizes on having Hyun Bin as the male lead. He’s capable of delivering so much nuance and intensity all wrapped in that gorgeous physical … Continue reading →
The just ended MBC drama Pride & Prejudice not only made room for a new arrival to shake up Mon-Tues ratings, it also put the struggling drama out of its misery. P&P was decent in the first half but basically unwatchable in the second half with how crazy dull it got. The entire narrative was like watching a tire slowly … Continue reading →
All hail the power of dad! In just one month the South Korean box office has produced one of the biggest domestic box office hits with Ode to My Father, coming so soon after last year’s runaway victor The Admiral: Roaring Currents. The movie has raked in over $80 million US dollars in South Korea and topping the box office in each … Continue reading →
It feels so weird to report on a happy event but still feel rivers of reservation and this odd sinking sensation that all’s not quite well with it. Lee Min Jung‘s agency MST Entertainment released an official announcement on Monday morning that the married actress was pregnant and expecting her first baby. Lee Min Jung is reportedly 27 weeks pregnant, … Continue reading →
OH MY GOD! This is the second time Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi have given me a mini heart attack. It’s been just over a year since the former OTP costars of the popular time-traveling C-drama Bu Bu Jing Xin announced they were dating via weibo. Now they have just one upped themselves – Nicky posted a single picture … Continue reading →
For those who have a romantic fairytale and/or princess streak, the wedding of Taiwanese music genius Jay Chou to his very pretty and very young now-wife Hannah Quinlivan will be right up your alley. The wedding and reception all took place in England, fulfilling both Jay and Hannah’s dreams of having a very romantic traditional fairytale-esque event. The price tag … Continue reading →
The Kim Hyun Joong assault allegations case came to a surprising end this week, surprising for me only because I thought it was completely over after he issued a public written apology to his ex-girlfriend for physically hurting her in the past and she subsequently dropped the charges against him. Turns out the Korean justice system isn’t as douchey as it … Continue reading →
