Wu Jing Yan Showcases Xianxia Ethereal Beauty in New Promo Stills and Producer Yu Zheng Compliments Her and Laments the Teasing She Received During Story of Yanxi Palace

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

So I skipped Story of Yanxi Palace when it aired in 2018 as by then I had lost interest in C-dramas and also because it’s a Yu Zheng produced drama and that man is the trolliest of all trolls. It also looked like a weaksauce copycat version of The Legend of Zhen Huan (Empresses in the Palace). Yanxi was there … Continue reading →

I don’t know when he got into it but in recent years he’s shared fishing pictures and always with a mega watt smile which tells … Continue reading →

Kim Tae Ri in Talks for Female Empowerment Period K-drama Jeong Nyeong

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

K-netizens love a great casting when the role seems tailor-made for a star. Such is the response to the news that K-actress Kim Tae Ri will likely be the live-action version of webtoon Jeong Nyeong, a period story about a Korean woman in the 1950’s striving for success. It almost feels like a less dark version of her debut character … Continue reading →

K-netizens Flummoxed By the Casting of Ahn Bo Hyun as the Weak Constitution Male Lead Opposite Shin Hye Sun in See You in My 19th Life

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I’m with the K-netizens on this one but also think it will make for an interesting works/mega fail dichotomy when the drama comes out. The casting of Ahn Bo Hyun as the male lead in the upcoming fantasy romance See You in My 19th Life with Shin Hye Sun as the female lead sounds like a good pairing of two … Continue reading →

tvN Releases Set of Three Official Drama Stills of New Leading Lady Go Yoon Jung in Upcoming Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Her short guest appearance in summer 2022 fantasy K-drama Alchemy of Souls was definitely Go Yoon Jung‘s breakout. There were three near same age female leads in Sweet Home and Park Kyu Young has the better character and Go Min Si had the more interesting arc so it wasn’t Go Yoon Jung’s breakout vehicle. She was okay in Law School … Continue reading →

tvN Wed-Thurs Drama Love in Contract with park Min Young and Go Kyung Pyo Wraps Perplexingly Plotted Run

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I can throw reality to the wind with a lot of K-dramas but for some reason Love in Contract just didn’t work for me on set up and then never delivered anything beyond the distasteful premise to make it a worthwhile watch. I was intrigued into to watch through episode 8 and then off-and-on to see how the plot unfolded … Continue reading →

Tencent Announces Immediate Release of She and Her Perfect Husband with Yang Mi and Xu Kai on November 14th

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Okay, Chinese broadcasting authorities, you drunk and need to calm the heck down. Because randomly pulling a drama a day before premiere and a month later only allowing it to preview out of the blue just gives audiences whiplash. I’ve fully experienced that with modern romance drama She and Her Perfect Husband, which was supposed to air last month in … Continue reading →

Zhao Lu Si Sweeps the Top Three of the Most Recent Baidu Poll on Favorite 95-Flower Roles with Yu Shu Xin Making the List Not for Her Most Recent Hit Drama

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This summer of 2022 was really a two-horse race of Love Between Fairy and Devil and Love Like the Galaxy, and it wasn’t for television ratings are both are web dramas but for buzz and cache. My two cents says both dramas are male lead dominant, i.e. it benefitted Dylan Wang and Wu Lei respectively more than the female leads. … Continue reading →
