A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’ll be patriotism against zombies when big budget historical war movie Operation Chromite (Battle of Inchon) arrives in theaters later this week. Train-based undead action flick Train to Busan is breaking all box offices in Korean theaters since it’s wide release last week, hitting that sweet spot of fun pop corn flick with incisive social commentary. Operation Chromite will likely appeal … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Incarnation of Jealousy is still flying under the radar which is still fine by me. It needn’t try to out-buzz Uncontrollably Fond on KBS or W: Two Worlds on MBC, both dramas have their own thematic and casting lures and the same is true for Incarnation of Jealousy in a less trendy way. Leads Gong Hyo … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s a welcomed long time no see to spot Hallyu superstar Kim Soo Hyun out and about last week at the VIP premiere for blockbuster K-movie Train to Busan. Song Hye Kyo is Fashionably Hit and Miss at the Prada Event in Hong Kong

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s odd to hit and miss in such extremes with one look, but Song Hye Kyo certainly pulled it off at the Prada event in Hong Kong this weekend. Her acting career has been well known in Chinese speaking countries for well over a decade, ever since Autumn in My Heart in 2000 put her on the Hallyu map, so … Continue reading →

Suzy Jump Starts the Next Season in Autumnal Colored Pictorial for Grazia Magazine

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The dichotomy of KBS drama Uncontrollably Fond is easy to explain but hard to quantify objectively. I love the drama but find both leads Kim Woo Bin and Suzy‘s acting woefully inconsistent and way to frequently comes across as them acting like themselves. So far their chemistry isn’t even all that great, he’s got better chemistry with Jin Kyung as his … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Just when I thought Michelle Chen and Chen Xiao‘s wedding week was going to rival Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivin’s, the couple capped it off perfectly with a romantic fairy tale style wedding reception in Taipei. Jay and Hannah’s wedding spanned three continents, with English castle vows to a Taipei circus reception finished off with an Australia beach party. Michelle … Continue reading →
