I’m not sure why I remain so optimistic about the upcoming K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin, other than I’m most likely still not jaded as a drama watcher and enjoy the excitement of happy anticipation. Even though I love the novel and C-drama adaptation to pieces, neither are masterpieces without flaws, and what makes them so near and dear … Continue reading →
Holy growth hormones, what do we have here? I’m not accusing Kang Min Hyuk of using PEDs, not that he’s violating any industry regulations in doing so, but it’s genuinely jawdropping to see his latest High Cut pictorial where he shows off guns and pecs of steel. I’ve been bemoaning all last year about his lack of new acting gigs, … Continue reading →
Kim Yoo Jung has got that enviable combination of god-given good looks and an abundance of talent to propel her acting career for the long haul. She also seems to have a good head on her shoulders, in her role selection she’s been smart and savvy such as with Angry Mom this year, not to mention her personal life seems … Continue reading →
Casting is complete in a really surprising yet promising way for an upcoming online drama based on a popular webtoon. Cinderella and Four Knights, which already cast the two main male leads in Jung Il Woo and Ahn Jae Hyun, has now found its Cinderella and two more additional knights. I’m pretty shocked to see that talented young movie actress … Continue reading →
Marry Me or Not took a turn into more serious territory in episode 10 but that didn’t dampen the enjoyment in the least. I appreciate the chance to flesh out other characters more, even one as unlikable as Justin’s self-absorbed mom who can only see slights against her and never her own actions towards others. Justin may not be experienced … Continue reading →
On the heels of the male casting getting confirmed like a cascade of flower boy dominoes, the ladies of upcoming K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin has signed on the dotted line. IU‘s confirmation as the female lead was alongside male lead Lee Jun Ki earlier this week in the SBS drama that has now ditched the silly sounding title … Continue reading →
The curious case of Jang Geun Seok‘s entertainment career since his acting career high moment with 2009 K-drama You’re Beautiful is one where his diehard fans have it right and the casual fans are just off the mark because we don’t get him. He’s finally venturing back into K-ent to start off 2016 by being a producer and MC for the … Continue reading →
This weekend in Beijing was the 7th Annual TV Drama Awards, showcasing the splashiest and buzziest Mainland Chinese dramas of 2015. I would say best of the bunch but so many award categories seem to be based on popularity even in the description alone. There wasn’t a Best Drama category but ten C-dramas from 2015 was honored for being the … Continue reading →
A day after the leads of soon-to-start-filming period K-drama Moon Lovers confirmed final casting in Lee Jun Ki and IU, now the rest of the cast is also locked down and more importantly got specific character assignments. This is good news even if fans of the original work in novel and C-drama Bu Bu Jing Xin have issues with the K-version casting, at … Continue reading →
Talk about a long awaited pairing of flower boy actors across a generation. The upcoming dramatic movie The King has finally finalized casting and landed two A-list actors to boot. Jung Woo Sung and Jo In Sung will be headlining the movie to start filming later this month. This movie has been in the works since middle of 2015, and … Continue reading →
Korean stars Sung Joon and Han Ye Seul give off the same aura and vibes for me, both ridiculously pretty in an angular lithe style. They wouldn’t be what I deem cute, except when I see them together for their upcoming jTBC drama Madame Antoine I find them unexpectedly cute because of their chemistry and interactions. Han Ye Seul seems … Continue reading →
Main casting is now finalized and script reading will take place this week on January 8th at SBS studios in Yeouido for the K-adaptation of well known Chinese period novel Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with Each Step). The K-version will be called Moon Lovers is for sure going to headline Lee Jun Ki as the male lead, in the role … Continue reading →
I’m way more interested in upcoming SBS drama Please Come Back Ahjusshi (Please Come Back, Mister) now that the actual character backgrounds have been revealed. It’s starting to sound even more like a 49 Days redux, with dual leads and love lines that may not make all audiences happy but certainly adds color to the proceedings. It’s been made clear now … Continue reading →
