It’s been three weeks since Hyde, Jekyll, Me ended, a blissful three weeks where I didn’t have to watch or recap that abomination passing for a drama. Leading man Hyun Bin stepped out last week for a water filter promotional event where he was the brand endorser. I’m shocked we didn’t get to see Seo Jin drinking filtered water in … Continue reading →
Yes, I want my Yoo Seung Ho and eat my cake, too. Since being released from military service, Yoo Seung Ho has dived back into his entertainment career full force, including resuming his sought after CF activities. He filmed a CF last month for Korean conglomerate CF‘s dessert brand Petitzel on a new individual-sized cake called the Sweet Roll. It’s … Continue reading →
Sunday night SETTV drama Someone Like You continues to thrum along nicely, an uncomplicated and sweet little drama featuring two of the most likable leads in a long while. This drama romance also took a long time to get going, with leads Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi finally getting together for the last two episodes. It’s been sweet but I want … Continue reading →
There’s a viral photo shop series going around this past week featuring a handful of the currently most popular Chinese actresses spliced into the iconic Cinderella live-action movie poster featuring Lily James. It’s totally worth checking out even if the photo shop skills aren’t the best and some of the pictures used of certain actresses are less than ideal choices. It gives a … Continue reading →
Excitement continues to mount for the upcoming two-fer Attack on Titan live-action movies. Consider me a convert with the just released second movie trailer, this was one story with such dense mythology and special effects needed I actually thought it was impossible for Japan to pull off a live-action adaptation. Not only has Japan managed to pull it off, it … Continue reading →
I think it’s clear that I really like newbie actor Ji Soo, writing about him immediately after watching the first episode of Angry Mom and being unexpectedly surprised with this fresh face talent. K-netizens feel the same way, as Ji Soo’s star has been rising exponentially fast with AM’s airing, even landing a bevy of news interviews with accompanying photo … Continue reading →
Looks like upcoming KBS Friday night varie-drama Producer is going the safe way in unveiling the leads, judging by the release of Cha Tae Hyun stills followed by a peek at Gong Hyo Jin, the network is going in order of age seniority which works for me. It’s a four lead drama with the two younger leads being Kim Soo … Continue reading →
MBC is being nice and friendly with upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Warm and Cozy, releasing the first stills of Yoo Yeon Seok in character as the male lead and BTS stills with leading lady Kang Sora. I may not have gotten the Yoo Yeon Seok appeal yet since I skipped Answer Me 1994, I do believe he’s a truly talented actor … Continue reading →
Holy smokes, the last ten minutes of this episode of The Girl Who Sees Smells may call for having smelling salts on hand. I was genuinely quaking with dread and awe at how masterfully the story turned the corner and reveals the big bad with such sinister perfection. We learn who the bar code killer is this early in the … Continue reading →
I see London, I see France, I finally get to see new lovebirds Suzy and Lee Min Ho‘s respective pictorials in those European locales which led to their Dispatch snapped rendezvous. It’s been over a month since the young and insanely popular stars were outed as a couple, since then both have been going about their usual entertainment activities and … Continue reading →
It’s a good time to be Kim Woo Bin, that’s for sure. The box office numbers are in for the third week of the coming-of-age comedy movie Twenty, starring Kim Woo Bin, Junho of 2PM, and Kang Ha Neul. It’s enough for the pundits to declare the bromance movie a success, taking in over 2.7 million admissions in three weeks and … Continue reading →
Stickiness has long been used as yet another barometer to assess a drama, performance, or character. Some successes vanish soon after while other less immediate wins steadily remain for much longer. It’s hard to say which one is preferable, ultimately even the most sticky works fade from memory as the fickle audience mind continues to look to the latest and … Continue reading →
The Girl Who Sees Smells continues to be the bees knees, just what the good doctor ordered to cure my recent drama disappointment. It keeps on delivering the lovely and entertaining moments, never straying beyond the existing storyboard and spending all the development time in all the right places. Moo Gak finds out his Eun Seol died in the worst … Continue reading →
