I’m not particularly interested in the upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs melodrama Mask, but that’s not indicative of what I think of the drama quality potential and more my preference for rom-coms especially during the warmer seasons. Mask follows after The Girl Who Sees Smells so won’t be hitting the small screens until June but that hasn’t stopped SBS from getting a … Continue reading →
Audiences are naturally more forgiving and prone to favorable recollections when things end well, versus starting well and face planting at the end. That’s due to the ending being the final contact with the work which turns into the last thing taken away, right? Who reads a book or watches a movie from back to front, unless it was me starting … Continue reading →
I thought I would have to warn y’all to put on your big boy pants before watching this, but sadly the first teaser preview for the highly anticipated Attack on Titan live-action movie is mostly underwhelming. The reason can be laid 100% on the choice to go low energy for the much too short tease, at 30 seconds it needed … Continue reading →
I don’t know whether to be annoyed or impressed with the production of upcoming period C-drama God of War Zhao Zhi Long. The drama released the most teaser-ish of teasers, putting all previous drama teases to shame for showing too much to be really called a teaser. In an impressive feat of clever tie-in, the production sneaked the first official … Continue reading →
I’m still doing internal double takes about being this into upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama The Girl Who Sees Smells. It doesn’t quite reach the level of being excited, more apty described as cautiously intrigued. The drama got on my good side when it stuck to the original title of Smelly Girl rather than fold to the more male lead inclusive Sensory … Continue reading →
When I was mulling over Ha Ji Won‘s possible leading man for the K-version of In Time With You, now called The Time I Loved You, 7000 Days, I didn’t include the actual name being floated now only because I thought he was already taken. That, and also not quite the fame level I thought the production would go for, … Continue reading →
SBS is trimming the fat and focusing on the the focal problem of its disastrously low-rated weekend dramas. None of them are written in ways that appeal to the core weekend audience, namely families wanting to watch stories about fictional Korean families that are wackier or way more entertaining than their mundane lives. It doesn’t have to be makjang, though … Continue reading →
Now this is what I consider an all-around good looking casting. The first stills are out for the three leads of upcoming KBS Friday night drama Orange Marmalade and I’m liking what I see. Yeo Jin Gu, Seolhyun of AOA and CNBLUE‘s Lee Jong Hyun are shown in character wearing high school uniforms and all look quite convincing, with the former … Continue reading →
This was the best episode of Hyde, Jekyll, Me, and no, I didn’t get blinded by all that kissing. Can’t figure out if another screenwriter wrote it or the original one suddenly got a brain transplant because this episode was pretty darn entertaining and satisfying. Stuff happened, and it actually made sense within the context of this narrative world created! … Continue reading →
I’m probably getting ahead of myself, as I’m wont to do no thanks to this pesky thing called a drama addiction, by being overly optimistic and excited about upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama The Girl Who Sees Smells. But in my defense it’s so easy to like what’s shown so far! It helps that I’m not a big fan of leads Yoochun … Continue reading →
This is good drama casting news for me but I totally get if some viewers are more apprehensive about it. There’s movement on the producing and casting front for upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Who Are You: School 2015. One of the leading lady roles has been offered to Lee Yoo Bi already and is still waiting for her confirmation, with the … Continue reading →
Now this is more like it! After sportswear brand Millet seriously botched the first post-Pinocchio reunion photo spread between Lee Jong Seok and Park Shin Hye, it’s up to InStyle Korea to correctly capture the chemistry and sizzle between the two pretty stars. The magazine flew my two babies to London earlier this month for a photo shoot that is … Continue reading →
I had one of the most “did I just read that right?” double take reactions to the latest casting news, a combination of totally unexpected mixed with serendipitous coincidence that these two particular names would be linked together. The casting world hasn’t stopped buzzing about Ha Ji Won being offered the leading lady role in the K-remake of In Time … Continue reading →
