This has so much potential to be awesome or awesomely trainwreck. Man, I love me some rough angry boy Ji Soo but he was so so sooooo bad in Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo which convinced me he should stay far far away from sageuks. But now he’s coming back and playing his 8th brother Kang Ha Neul’s son lololol, … Continue reading →
Okay, this is the first episode I “felt” emotionally connected to Hye Joon and Jung Ah’s sweeter than cotton candy healthy romance in Record of Youth. Yes they are so thoughtful towards each other but it had been so boring since the very beginning. But this episode I really see why Jung Ah has her own agency in life and … Continue reading →
Not sure what happened behind the scenes but it certainly makes for a newsy Monday morning in the Seoul entertainment papers. K-actress Kim Sae Ron has abruptly dropped out of the drama Dear M reportedly due to a difference in opinion with the direction. She was reprising her character in the drama which is a spinoff of the drama Love … Continue reading →
I feel like SBS drama Penthouse spent all its money on the salaries of so many big name stars and just hired a college kid to do the promotional materials. It’s so bad it’s….good? The trio of female leads Kim So Yeon, Lee Ji Ah, and Eugene are doing their best The Princess, The Bitch, and The Social Climber poses … Continue reading →
It’s filming kick off time for upcoming tvN drama True Beauty, adapted from the webtoon called The Goddess Descends which supposedly has a problematic premise about beauty and shallowness and whatnot. Moon Ga Young plays the titular beauty who is an ordinary average girl who learns crack makeup skills and becomes a goddess level beauty to the outside world. The … Continue reading →
I’m still on the fence on whether the best thing about SBS fantasy time travel drama Alice is Joo Won or second male lead Kwak Shi Yang. It’s not a diss on Joo Won because he’s been incredibly on point in that drama since the very beginning but his character feels so reactive where his time traveler daddy is all … Continue reading →
tvN’s final Mon-Tues drama of 2020 is ready to start filming and the time slot is going to go from aspirational Record of Youth to medical miracle heartwarming Birthcare Center to dark procedural Awaken (Night and Day). The leads of Awaken held their script reading earlier this month led by Namgong Min, Seolhyun, Lee Chung Ah, and Yoon Sun Woo. … Continue reading →
Those hesitant on SBS Fri-Sat sci-fi drama Alice can safely get back on the train now. The drama is not going to awful route of making leads Joo Won and Kim Hee Sun in any universe romantically inclined towards each other. She’s his mother in one universe and basically she’s like a mom/older sister to him in every universe is … Continue reading →
Until I watched K-dramas I never realized an entire population would be captivated by a physical trait known as “small face”. Like, what? Years later it’s clear that having a small face remains frequently used in netizen comments and even reporters writing about dramas and movies, that a particular lead is very handsome with his proportions and small face. This … Continue reading →
Wow, awesome cast and fantastic sounding creepy premise! OCN has confirmed for early 2021 the thriller K-drama Dark Hole and signed up as leads Lee Joon Hyuk and Kim Ok Bin. I’m sure there will be zero romance and I’m totally cool with it since these two will bring intensity and the right seriousness for this story. The drama is … Continue reading →
The upcoming MBC drama The Spies Who Loved Me is totally going to put us in leading lady Yoo In Na‘s shoes as she navigates from spy ex-husband Eric and spy current-husband Im Joo Hwan. This is like the K-drama version of Spy v. Spy and may the best smexy secret agent win, though all signs point to Eric. It’s … Continue reading →
Call me sentimental but I’m actually looking forward to Winter Sonata 2 scheduled for next year in 2021. It’s being billed as a 20th anniversary homage to the Hallyu hit original which aired in 2001, and OMG I still remember my life in 2001 and goodness it’s been nearly 20 years. The drama is currently in pre-production so I’m guessing … Continue reading →
The upside is that it’s definitely age appropriate to the source material and to each other. But why do I feel like two legs are weaker than the third and it’s either going to be elevated or dragged down. Upcoming sageuk Hong Chun Gi, the name of the female lead and also the name of the novel by the writer … Continue reading →
