Okay so this is a sigh of relief for me lol, because I want to keep looking forward to this drama. The period C-drama A Dream Within a Dream (书卷一梦 or A Dream Within a Book) has signed on Liu Yu Ning for some time and initially Li Yi Tong was the female lead. The it became Yang Chao Yue … Continue reading →
It was just a production scheduling screw up that Chinese Paladin 4 adaptation Sword and Fairy 4 and Chinese Paladin 6 adaptation Sword and Fairy (just that, no 6 in the title) aired at the exact same time. Okay, one day apart in premiere but who’s quibbling, or perhaps that’s exactly the same difference in it’s reception. Industry pundits are … Continue reading →
This billing order shit is getting out of had, but then again it flares up and peters out in waves so I hope it dies down again ASAP. A new drama got cast this week and it’s relatively high profile, it’s the next drama from director and screenwriter Guo Jing Ming (Edward Guo) whose most recent drama was the stylish … Continue reading →
Filming is still underway for Tang dynasty period C-drama The Legend of Jewelry, which takes former second lead costars Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning from The Long Ballad and gives them the level up to leads for this big budget drama. Not gonna lie, I am so pumped for this drama it’s not even funny, especially on the … Continue reading →
After all that public fighting over billing order for Sword and Fairy 4 (Chinese Paladin 4), this mix up is especially funnier and more karmic for the production company. This week on one of the streaming landing pages for the drama, eagle eyed viewers noticed that the names of leads Ju Jing Yi and Chen Zhe Yuan instead read Liu … Continue reading →
It frustrates me to no end when a star’s own fandom ends up being his or her worst enemy, and this happens a lot in C-ent moreso than other industries. In trying to promote and fight for their own star, it ends up leaving other fans disliking said star. The latest backfire is with Chen Zhe Yuan, who just got … Continue reading →
Being a mom I’ve done my share of telling the kids “like, maybe doing that is a baaaad idea, baby” and dealing with either agreement or insistence on going ahead. The decision to make a C-movie adaptation of The Journey of Flower from the original source novel nearly ten years after the hit C-drama adaptation just seems like a giant … Continue reading →
So I think this one is coming soon as well and who knows we may have two currently airing Xu Kai dramas at the same time. I don’t mind, love this boy but I could do with spacing his dramas out more so I have more time to enjoy. The modern workplace romance C-drama As Beautiful as You with Tan … Continue reading →
What’s new C-netizens? Apparently it’s the same old, same old, with newly premiered xianxia C-drama Sword and Fairy 4 (Chinese Paladin 4) getting the first major non billing order complaint since it was released. The netizen backlash is against supporting actress Mao Xiao Hui who is being criticized for her lacking visuals onscreen and made worse by the photoshopped promo … Continue reading →
So while I love Yang Zi this is not one of her C-dramas that I am all that interested in watching. The drama is called Love Endures (Stories of Love and Youth) and filmed last year with Yang Zi and Fan Cheng Cheng as her male lead and with a broad supporting cast as it’s based on an anthology structure … Continue reading →
OMG, this is like baaaaaad even for Yu Zheng level shenanigans. Filming has kicked off for Perfect Match, a 5 couple drama about a mom trying to marrying off her 5 daughters in one Northern Song dynasty family and their respective 5 actors playing their beaus. It’s basically Yu Zheng taking Pride and Prejudice and knocking off the premise set … Continue reading →
So this drama synopsis may seem wonky off the bat calling leads Xu Kai and Yu Shu Xin of Sword and Fairy, the Chinese Paladin 6 adaptation, as siblings but it’s not cuz they are actually blood related. The story kicks off when both awaken at the same time in some random town with no memories and set off on … Continue reading →
So those of us on a C- or K-drama lull starting this new year in 2024 get ready for dramas galore to drop now and through lunar new year. The first to arrive is the adaptation of the Chinese Paladin 4 video game and the drama is titled Sword and Fairy 4 and stars Ju Jing Yi and Chen Zhe … Continue reading →
