So this is basically a done deal unless something drastic happens, the pairing and the scheduling both work well. A new Tencent produced C-drama is kicking off pre-production called Kill My Sins (Chinese title Zhang Xin 掌心 Palm of the Hand). It’s a big S-level female lead top billed drama and will star Liu Shi Shi who goes into filming … Continue reading →
I personally use anything over 7 as decent and worth checking out when a drama opens on Douban the crowd rating site in C-ent. Over 8 is amazing and around 6 is mediocre, and anything below that in the 5s and under is avoid at all costs. Xianxia C-drama The Last Immortal (Hidden God) wrapped its run last week and … Continue reading →
Is it new year new face for C-actress Peng Xiao Ran, or a case of makeup and styling lending to the unrecognizable flair. The actress’ agency released a new snow scape period attire photo shoot this week, which is fairly common for actresses to do their own shoots for promos, but if her name wasn’t attached to the photos I … Continue reading →
Sometimes hearing an opinion validated feels reassuring because it means at least my aesthetic assessing ability works or at least sits with the majority. But towards C-actress Yang Chao Yue there is no feeling of assurance that what appears like every single viewer who has watched her in a drama thinks she’s the worst actress in like ever. The issues … Continue reading →

So it will be 4th time the charm for Wang Xing Yue in terms of getting the girl in a drama if she’s played by Bai Lu. The same agency stars have worked together three times before but she was always the female lead and he a supporting role, but their next drama will elevate him to be her male … Continue reading →
Man, getting to be top billed sounds great until you realize you have to find a costar that’s willing to ride shotgun and still be good enough. That’s why there is so many C-dramas that feel lopsided and why it’s harder to get that perfect mutually equal chemistry. C-actor Liu Yu Ning is coming off a hit performance and drama … Continue reading →
I think after a few well made dramas for Zhang Ling He, namely My Journey to You and Story of Kunning Palace last year and in 2022 there was Love Between Fairy and Devil, whether as supporting or as male lead he’s been in enough hits to not be considered trying hard and not having results. I say this because … Continue reading →
C-drama melon time, and this one is likely to be confirmed. A big C-drama blogger is now saying that Love in the Turquoise Land (枭起青壤 Xiao Qi Qing Rang) that is slated for Dilraba Dilmurat as the female lead will now get Chen Zhe Yuan as the male lead. Originally the hope was to pair her up with Dylan Wang … Continue reading →
These new character posters are so hilariously awful but for some reason I’m kinda excited for this drama. The C-drama adaptation of the novel The Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus titled in Chinese Yong Ye Xing He released new stills of leads Ding Yu Xi and Yu Shu Xin along with second leads Zhu Xu Dan and Yang Shi … Continue reading →
So this the second least fan happy reunion of 2024 dramas, after Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning currently filming The Legend of Jewelry. Filming has commenced this week of period C-drama Flourished Peony starring Yang Zi and Li Xian in another formerly popular onscreen OTP reunion from Go Go Squid. One would think a successful outing a prior … Continue reading →
It’s interesting to see reception for a drama morph as it progresses and recently aired sci-fi romance C-drama Derailment has seen exactly that. Two weeks ago when the drama premiered it was received poorly thanks to female lead Liu Hao Cun’s bad real life reputation and also the confusing promos making the drama seem overwrought and weepy with a confusing … Continue reading →
Happy 2024 y’all! Next year will be a quarter century so I hope this year goes slower and I can enjoy it more. One reason time passes fast I feel is that we are always looking forward to something, like a new drama for example. In looking forward we may overlook the present. That said, I still can’t wait for … Continue reading →
