The success record of modern romances drama this year in 2023 has been baaaad. From the best to the worst (comparatively) among the big name starring modern dramas has to be Hidden Love, Sunshine By My Side, Rising with the Wind, Me and My Perfect Husband, Nothing But You, Only for Love, and Fireworks of My Heart, but honestly it’s … Continue reading →
I don’t know how the production of upcoming K-drama Mom’s Friend’s Son managed to get two perfect leads in talks but I could not be happier. The drama has lined up Jung Hae In and bonus points for this being his first rom-com which is still so surprisingly that he got so popular and established without doing one yet. Now … Continue reading →
It’s surreal to look back on 2020 not just as the year of COVID-19 spreading which sucks for most everyone but also a good year for some people. That year K-actress Seo Ye Ji hit the pinnacle of her career with It’s Not to Not Be Okay which airing on Netflix during the pandemic lockdown and having a fascinating female … Continue reading →
Sooooo…..this is supposed to be a romance sageuk drama? Am I reading this incorrectly or what based on the poster totally not jibing with the title. KBS is readying a January 2024 premiere of sageuk drama Love Song for Illusion based on the webtoon Fantasy Sonata, and it’s all sorts of incongruous to me on what to expect. The poster … Continue reading →
So iQiyi decided to roll one well received C-drama Story of Kunning Palace into another anticipated drama A Journey to Love and has now hit the double jacket. I just finished Wonderland of Love and was planning to finally start Kunning Palace but decided to sneak a peek at A Journey to Love and now I’m a goner. This drama … Continue reading →
I still find it jarring to see K-actor Lee Seon Kyun with K-pop star G-Dragon in the same frame and in the same news articles. The two have been under investigation for illegal drug use for the last two months since news broke of Lee Seon Kyun being blackmailed for illegal drug use leading to a police investigation. The latest … Continue reading →
When Death comes calling one can never hide, but for the upcoming K-drama Death’s Game the male lead goes looking for his own death and the are no takes-back-sies. The upcoming dark and morally ambiguous K-drama starring Park So Dam and Seo In Guk also boasts an insane number of famous guest stars playing the various lives that Seo In … Continue reading →
So last week was Thanksgiving in the US and as expected the amount of food consumed was pants splitting. It feels the same with the amount of dramas consumed because there are so many drams premiering recently that I can barely keep but have FOMO and want to watch them all. iQiyi decided to follow up Story of Kunning Palace … Continue reading →
This past weekend’s iQiyi Scream Awards was basically a popularity contest of the current tableau of high profile mixed with rising stars. There were a lot of liuliangs stars there but it’s usually a pissing contest of who is more popular or has more clout than the other among fandoms. I did get curious and checked out what industry insiders … Continue reading →
This past weekend the hit jTBC weekend drama Strong Girl Nam Soon ended and with a new ratings high of over 10%, putting itself in the same storied list of top rated cable dramas on the network. It was the second installment of the same premise story of a teeny tiny girl with superhuman strength following Strong Girl Bong Soon … Continue reading →
So I hear that Go Back Couple is one of those underrated and recommended faves from K-drama watchers but it’s still parked on my growing list of dramas I need to go back and watch (pun intended). Now leads Jang Nara and Son Ho Jun are reuniting in a new TV Chosun drama My Happy Ending and seeing the posters … Continue reading →
This is like the tamest wardrobe malfunction ever and rather cutely handled by the star in question and the considerate hosts. K-actress Ahn Eun Jin was up for Best New Actress at this weekend’s film industry only 2023 Blue Dragon Awards and she looked sleek in a strapless white encrusted column gown until she had a little wardrobe malfunction on … Continue reading →
It’s weird to use such a bland description as “good” or “decent” to describe something without it sounding like an insult but for C-drama Wonderland of Love within the context of the period C-dramas this is a genuine compliment. I watched this drama starring Xu Kai and Jing Tian for the last 3 weeks without any desire to drop it … Continue reading →
