I think drama and movie successes are just the appetizers for stars to rake in the endorsement deals where the real bucks are made. It makes sense as ultimately entertainment is a commodity and viewers are also customers on the other end. This year in 2023 the male K-actor with the most endorsement deals is Kim Soo Hyun with 15, … Continue reading →
While K-dramas, and J-doramas too, often pick a profession and milk it to death for an entire dramas, there have been times when the profession sounds dull as beans on paper but the series manages to wring out either humanistic stories that connect or actual nuggets of excitement within what is a fairly bland profession. With that said, the upcoming … Continue reading →
When I love or hate a drama it’s soooooo much easier to write about it. The words just come pouring out because my FEELS are so vivid either way, but for recently wrapped modern C-drama Lighter and Princess I’m having a tough time writing about it but still think the drama is worth devoting a post to. Starring Chen Fei … Continue reading →
So I noticed the 2022 Weibo TV and Internet Video Summit solely for the onstage pairing of Chen Fei Yu (Arthur Chen) and Dylan Wang, two sizzling in popularity young actors who happened to play the same character in Ever Night season 1 and 2. But it turns out the ladies side was wayyyyyyyy juicier and get ready for cat … Continue reading →
There is a Chinese saying of “tossing the dog treats” when it comes to a couple dropping cuteness whether real life or reel life. The two leads Kim Dong Wook and Moon Ga Young went above and beyond during the filming of Find Me in Your Memory in tossing the dog treats and even after the drama wrapped they still … Continue reading →
I love EVERYTHING about this first promo for upcoming Netflix K-drama The Glory. It’s glorious, pun intended, in how the poster captivates and the teaser mesmerizes. The poster is a screenshot of the end scene of the teaser, which starts with an embroidery of a branch into a green high heel and branching out into entire entire tree with Song … Continue reading →
So the positive news first – high profile live-action fantasy C-drama Wu Geng Ji, adapted from the hit anime of the same name, has its confirmed male lead in Allen Ren (Ren Jia Lun). He’s been rumored alongside Li Yi Tong for this drama for months so this confirmation for those in the know is not a surprise, what is … Continue reading →
I had so many problems with season 1 of Alchemy of Souls that even without the female lead change I would be starting off already so mad at the mess left behind when the first season ended. So perhaps the change of female lead is a good thing, which effectively returns Naksu’s soul back to her own body which is … Continue reading →
Well hot diggity what great news to look forward to in 2023 in K-drama land! K-ent is reporting that a new jTBC drama Doctor Slump is courting Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik as the leads and both are likely to confirm. If so it will air in late fall of 2023, a year away but still great news … Continue reading →
Okay, those of you who are Ever Night fans this may just set your panties on fire. It kinda did for me and I didn’t even watch it haha. Goes to show both male leads Chen Fei Yu (Arthur Chen) and Dylan Wang are just on fire this year in terms of popularity and leveling up. Ah Se (nickname for … Continue reading →
I didn’t watch 2019 hit period C-drama Goodbye My Princess but it was impossible to miss the pictures and posts all featuring Peng Xiao Ran as the titular princess dressed all in red as a princess from the outer tribes swept up in an ill-fated romance. It was career making for her so it’s frustrating to see her new upcoming … Continue reading →
Normally I say expect the worse so one can hopefully get anything better than that and be happily surprised. But the promos for upcoming MBC sageuk drama The Forbidden Marriage have been just that bad that I’m happy none of my faves are in it. Half the problem is the leads though, with Kim Young Dae wasting an intriguing potential … Continue reading →
It’s celebration time for K-actress Song Hye Kyo who turned 41 years old last week on her November 22nd birthday. She posted pictures of what seems like a low key but lovely celebration complete with rose, a white character with ribbon frosting, and her beloved Bichon. She’s gearing up for the December 2022 premiere on Netflix of her next drama … Continue reading →
