Just when I felt like sitting Scholar Who Walks the Night down and demanding that the drama get its act together, it goes and gets it act together. FINALLY. The production company just released a statement that Kim So Eun is confirmed as the female lead of Scholar, playing the cross-dressing fallen noblewoman leading lady who falls in love with the … Continue reading →
Whatever your thoughts on the K-drama remake of popular TW-drama In Time With You, the project is for sure happening and now both main leads have inked their involvement. Lee Jin Wook has just been confirmed as the male lead of upcoming SBS weekend drama The Time I Loved You, 7000 Days opposite already confirmed female lead Ha Ji Won. … Continue reading →
Just as I was wondering why Descendants of the Sun hasn’t added to the main cast yet comes the first supporting role casting news. The drama starts filming in June and is clearly a huge production with tons of supporting roles in the soldiers and doctors category. With screenwriter Kim Eun Sook‘s casting style, she’s bound to throw in an … Continue reading →
If I wasn’t writing about dramas then I would go into hibernation mode with Scholar Who Walks the Night and have someone else wake up me when the casting is finally FINALLY finalized. It’s now bordering on the theater of the absurd with this drama’s inability to find female leads, and that includes both the first and second leading ladies. … Continue reading →
My interest in upcoming Hong sisters drama Warm and Cozy (Feeling Good and Warm) got cut in half when first leading man choice Kim Woo Bin elected to pass on the offer. Nothing against eventual leading man Yoo Yeon Seok, but I don’t feel much for him either way while I was super stoked to check out Woo Bin in … Continue reading →
It’s undeniable that Korea loves Suzy, whether she’s singing, acting, or doing CFs, at this point she can do no wrong. I don’t see her popularity extending overseas to the same degree that she’s beloved domestically, but her first foray into Chinese acting waters is forthcoming which may expand her reach. Chinese entertainment news is reporting that Suzy will be … Continue reading →
I’m still happily watching TW-drama Someone Like You (Chinese title Hearing Happiness). It’s the SETTV Sunday night tent pole drama but feels like the network’s stepchild with how the daily drama Dear Mom and the Friday night new arrival Murphy’s Law of Love are both getting so much more publicity blasts. SLY isn’t a drama that is terribly memorable after … Continue reading →
I love reporting happiness news and there is none sweeter in entertainment than a star couple I adore welcoming a little bundle of joy. Long time married acting couple Eugene and Ki Tae Young welcomed their first child on April 12th, a little girl who is certainly going to be the envy of the town if she inherits mommy’s classically … Continue reading →
As more and more promotional materials come out for upcoming period C-drama Chinese Hero Zhao Zi Long (Chinese title God of War Zhao Zi Long), the more my heart sinks as this drama indeed looks like a hot mess. Of course it could always end up an unexpected delight, but it’s hard to feel optimistic anymore when leads Lin Geng Xin … Continue reading →
It always brings a smile to my face to see Gong Yoo out and about, even if he’s a tad skinny and a ton too pink for my tastes. I know that only his pants are pink (salmon to be more specific), but goodness does it draw the eyes straight down there, which might be the intention of his coordi … Continue reading →
I’m always impressed with how fast China can slap something together when it gets working on it. Case in point the movie version of You Are My Sunshine, which started filming in February and will be hitting the big screens on May 1st a mere three months later. It likely helped that the story is a romance with no special … Continue reading →
Just last year rising young Taiwan actresses Beatrice Fang and Apple Lin were in the pages of GQ magazine being all cute and sexy (see above), this year both are swapping their bikinis for maternity wear in what is turning into a steady stream of very young star pregnancies. First came 24-year old Apple Lin (best known for her In … Continue reading →
I wonder if Chinese casual wear brand Semir is playing a Pokemon game of “Gotta Catch ‘Em All”? How else to explain the brand snatching up one Korean male Hallyu star after another for its clothing campaigns. Kim Woo Bin is the latest to join the Semir line up that includes Lee Min Ho, Kim Soo Hyun, and Lee Jong Seok. … Continue reading →
