This is a fascinating poll result piece and usually the Japanese fans of K-dramas aren’t heard as much as the I-fans or C-netizens so I usually go by what gets high ratings when it airs over there to gauge popularity. A recent Japanese Hallyu fan poll of over 150,000 votes selected the Best K-drama OTPs and it’s clear that some of the most iconic ones have now fallen low on the list probably due the the passage of time. The #1 vote for Best Drama OTP goes to Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung in Moonlight Drawn By Clouds with 50,192 votes. Second place is Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young in Why Secretary Kim with 33,615 votes with Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum rounding out the top 3 with 20,798 votes for Kill Me, Heal Me. I always forgot just how wildly popular the K-version of Fated to Love You was in Japan because Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara came in 4th with 11,690 votes, then it’s a surprise of the two Jeon Ji Hyun dramas that Legend of the Blue Sea with Lee Min Ho at 9,132 votes for 5th place edged out You From Another Star with Kim Soo Hyun which got 7.505 votes. Check out the full top 20 below.

This rumor is sure to make Healer fans hella happy, even if it’s as much a shot in the dark as anything to come from entertainment gossip. Both Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young‘s star rose another notch after … Continue reading
I’m comfortably bipolar when it comes to Park Min Young. She is one of the few acting talents that I judge project to project and don’t carry too much previous opinion forward when it comes to whatever she’s lined up … Continue reading
I was a little hesitant around the casting of Healer when it was first announced with Ji Chang Wook as the titular character. I wondered what the drama was going to do having Yoo Ji Tae around as well. Thankfully the … Continue reading
The just ended MBC drama Pride & Prejudice not only made room for a new arrival to shake up Mon-Tues ratings, it also put the struggling drama out of its misery. P&P was decent in the first half but basically … Continue reading
The upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Healer has remained consistently intriguing in all the promotional materials. Now all it has to do is actually deliver when it premieres next Monday. It can’t possibly be worse than its predecessor Tomorrow’s Cantabile in … Continue reading
This year has seen plenty of flame out K-dramas of the Go Big or Go Home variety that unfortunately went down the slink home in shame style. Big name stars with big budgets and/or big expectations such as My Lovely … Continue reading
I’m seriously so enamored of whatever Park Min Young has got going on in Healer. It’s the combination of her cute new mussy shoulder length hair and the fact that she’s totally glowing. The fresh and understated make up doesn’t … Continue reading
It’s such a relief that promos for upcoming KBS drama Healer continue to look fantastic. The drama was announced and cast relatively early, with respect to how frequently K-dramas come down to the wire, and having that head start ought … Continue reading
KBS has been an abysmal failure in the prime time ratings this year but I like to believe the next promising drama from the network can change the tides. It’s either that optimism or acknowledging the network is basically incompetent … Continue reading
