I love self-deprecation especially in the entertainment industry since it can get too pompous and self-congratulatory. The 2017 C-star Awards were a blast to watch because it was just stars being sincerely thankful to be popular and having fun being a little bit silly. The winners all had to receive a prize that was either a vegetable or fruit, and one hasn’t seen anything unless you see Yang Yang holding giant green onion a la Farfetch’d or Fan Bing Bing cradling a ginormous cabbage in her thank you speech. I loved all the outfits other than Xu Lu who was too princessy in the pink strapless and Tang Yan going for a weird tuxedo overall dress with a mini skirt underneath. Yang Mi‘s silver metallic one shoulder ruffled mini was fun but Dilraba Dilmurat took the playfulness a step further with her D&G black couture mermaid gown with a weight lifting belt twist cinching her waist. All in all another successful fashion night out for the C-star crowd. Continue reading
