Hul, did I drop this drama too soon? A combination of being traumatized by the ending episode crazy of Lovers of the Red Sky and also not having enough time led me to hit pause after episode 4 of The King’s Affection (Yeonmo) with no interest in continuing. I didn’t dislike it, but it didn’t hook me as much as … Continue reading →
Sorry this final wrap up of tvN romance and life drama Yumi’s Cells is two weeks late, October into November was a wild month for me with a two week quarantine in a hotel to go see my parents in Asia (you can guess which country lol) and then rushing back four days later so lots of loopy craziness. After … Continue reading →
I feel like the lede for this article about ratings is less the competition and more whether the drama has the allure to bring in its own respective set of viewers. This Friday the SBS Fri-Sat time slot started Now, We are Breaking Up after the conclusion of One: The Woman last week and the first episode brought in 6.4% … Continue reading →
Oh this is a good one, and I totally know who would be just a blast to live as for one month! K-netizens have circulated a post that shares ten famous/popular/well-known K-drama female lead characters and asked “which female lead’s life would you want to life if its just for one month?” I love the one month qualified because it’s … Continue reading →
Currently airing Jirisan continues to get plenty of media coverage and is still another month from finishing but it’s time for tvN to start promos for the next drama in that time slot which is Bulgasal (Immortal Souls). Starring Lee Jin Wook, Kwon Nara, Lee Joon, and Gong Seung Yeon, this is a case of four equally headlining leads packed … Continue reading →
The first stills are out for upcoming high profile big budget air disaster movie Emergency Declaration and it’s just a collection of huge stars which is nothing wrong to enjoy the assemblage. The movie premiered last month at Cannes Film Festival and will get a theatrical US release after an early 2022 South Korea premiere. The premise is that an … Continue reading →
Daaaaaang, what did I do to deserve the drama gods gifting me with such eye candy so early in the morning. The first BTS stills have leaked of upcoming medical fantasy drama Ghost Doctor, and yes the male lead is both a ghost and a doctor heh. The drama stars Rain, Kim Bum, and UEE in what I call the … Continue reading →
Burberry either has a ton of endorsements in South Korean or it’s just got plenty of sway to lure this many famous faces to attend this week’s event in Seoul at its flagship store. Han Hyo Joo and Moon Ga Young brought different actress vibes with the former more ladylike and the latter going for cool young hipness. For the … Continue reading →
The Netflix production wagon continues into 2022 and one of the dramas on the slate is a opposites attract modern romance called Love Battle. The drama has quite an interesting main cast as stars I don’t usually associate with this type of genre. Yoo Teo and Kim Ok Bin will be playing the leads with Kim Ji Hoon has the … Continue reading →
These two are unrelated legal woes but it’s the same set of siblings and also happening in the same week span. Former high flying idol-actor Park Yoochun, who has been residing in scandal plagued exile for sexually assaulting a woman in the bathroom in 2016 and subsequently a bunch more legal misconduct emerged or happened thereafter, has now been legally … Continue reading →
The steady stream of youth sageuks continue even with a batch aired already. 2021 started off with River Where the Moon Rises followed by Lovers of the Red Sky then now The King’s Affection. This week Secret Royal Inspector and Joy premiered followed by The Red Sleeve Cuff, which is the only one that isn’t quite a youth sageuk and … Continue reading →
I thought getting a cab or designated driver would solve the drunken driving incidents common in high drinking countries including South Korea, but then it doesn’t solve the other potential drunken misconduct problems that could arise with a third party around. K-actor Lee Kyu Han, a seasoned character actor with tons of face recognition even if audiences don’t necessarily remember … Continue reading →
The Mon-Tues time slot for tvN has been weak for the past year, not since Record of Youth has it really delivered solid dramas and/or rating hits. I’ve only liked Awaken (Night and Day) since then but the other dramas in that period include Birthcare Center, LUCA, Doom at Your Service, You are My Spring, Navillera, and most recently High … Continue reading →
