Lovers of the Red Sky Episode 6 Crosses 10% Ratings as Chun Gi Takes a Step Forward as a Painter and a Step Back in Her Childhood Love Reunion

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Lovers of the Red Sky isn’t a great sageuk (so far) by any measure of a drama but it does two things exceptionally well – keep the narrative fast paced and interesting and the elements tightly meshed together. There is a coherence to this drama and that threads are all interconnected. Episode 6 got 10.2% ratings so a new high … Continue reading →

The twist is that all three are best known as The Nation’s Worst Husbands (Villains) … Continue reading →

First Teaser for tvN Mountain Climbing Drama Cliffhanger with Jeon Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

My first thought is that someone took the definition of teaser way too literally and decided less is more. How else to explain that even in a short teaser of Cliffhanger (Mount Jiri) half of it was black screen names that no one cares about because we are all there for Jeon Ji Hyun and/or Joo Ji Hoon doing their … Continue reading →

Lovers of the Red Sky Continues to be Lyrical Sageuk Drama Crack as Episode 5 Stays Solid at 9.7% Ratings

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Oh god, how can this drama be soooooo addicting. Like, someone just found a recipe of Koala sageuk nip and bibimbap-ed it into Lovers of the Red Sky (Hong Chun Gi) and I seriously am toast for every scene. Episode 5 was basically a one-scene episode so credits to the drama narrative for making the painting contest so fascinating, beautiful, … Continue reading →

Ahn Hyo Seob Gets Closer to Kim Yoo Jung as She Advances Painting Aspirations in New Stills for Episode 5 of Lovers of the Red Sky

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

There is so much disparate threads going on in Lovers of the Red Sky and so far it’s managed to not cross streams in messing any up. The central romance, with it’s fate and she’s got his eyes and holds to key to containing the demon spirit in him, is progressing nicely on a human level. I love that they … Continue reading →
